Hi Jamie!!! THANK YOU!!! I LOVE THIS!!! There are so many practical benefits of this technique like you mentioned in the video and for me there is the added benefit in the JOY of CREATING the ephemera pages which become a work of art in themselves and then the JOY of VIEWING the completed pages on a regular basis. I have inventory binders of samples of color, card-stock, ink, paint, etc. and I LOVE flipping through them especially when my creative mojo is tired… the rainbows of colors can brighten any day. I love that you are able to donate items you know you won’t use - that’s something I struggle with… although I can easily throw out stickers or whatever that are creepy, crawly items without hesitation! This past week I worked with the 49andMarket Color Swatch shades and created my ‘inventory’ pages where I chose a favorite 6x8 paper then created a collage style layout that used at least one of each accessory/ephemera item (filmstrip, rub-on, acetate, tickets, etc.). I so enjoyed the process and now have a reference of the items available as well as another creative incentive for viewing and inspiration. Thanks for sharing your time, energy, and creativity that is so inspiring. Have a great day! 🙂
@JamiePate
@JamiePate 9 ай бұрын
That sounds fantastic how you created your inventory pages. I'm inspired! It sounds like fun in and of itself. And yes! Great thought. Flipping through these pages does ignite ideas, does it not? Same with even going through an album of crafted pages. I get the same thing. Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts. I know others will appreciate as well. Have a lovely day.

PS… I pull the back page of the 49&Market paper pack that has all the thumbnails of papers on it to use in my inventory binder on the left side… favorite paper collage layout on the right side… that way I have a more complete representation and a lovely 2-page spread for each.

Yes, yes and yes to all of it!! After having tried boxes, bags and trays I’m going to take the time to do this w/the ephemera! It is the perfect way to see all that is possible. I agree w/remembering what we have by doing this catalog. Time consuming, yes, but so much better than fumbling through pieces to find a specific item. Plus it makes the pages so colorful! Thank you for continuing this series!!❤
@JamiePate
@JamiePate 9 ай бұрын
The time consuming part is not as bad as you think. I have just been doing one collection at a time as I get time. I'm not a big watcher of a movie when I craft, my brain cannot do both those things at once. But this I can do in front of a screen. Or with everyone down stairs when they are watching something. This is an excellent idea for organizing ephemera and would be perfect for me to tackle when my mojo is not working. I imagine it may help my creativity by seeing all the pretty things organized this way. I love the idea of purging as I go, too. I do not love crazy icons and this would really help me get them out of my stash. I’m guessing I will need a book for each manufacturer I buy a lot of like Pink Fresh and Cocoa Vanilla. Well, I’ll be going by Walmart today to pick up a couple of these sketch books. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
