It’s just my style. I wouldnt want someone doing that crap around me…so I wouldn’t wanna annoy people as well. But if it’s in the clear and nobody is around…I’ll rip it up. Lol Even with regular driving. Maybe 5% of the time I’ll do spirited driving. Other than that, I’m at the speed limit and driving like a grandma. I just like to cruise. Getting busted isn’t worth it to me at all.

@@TheFlexxGarage 100% my man. I activated Audi drive select on mine. It's in efficiency most of the time. But once warm, in the mood etc or the time calls for it.. stick it in dynamic and oooosh. Plus if you drive normally you never lose the rush feeling of the current power. Driving like a cock everywhere you go only attracts attention, wastes fuel, gets boring and is just pretty stupid all the same. Enjoy it buddy, she's looking sweet. Mines running 300+ at present and never gives me any shit. Still want to do the inlet manifold, S3 injectors and hpfp piston. I think that would be me a pig in shit. Talking 350 ish no probs.

Been watching your vids since I had an A6 2.0t, I should’ve done a lot of this when I had the 2.0t engine! Regardless, I have an S5 now Stage 1 tune from APR and it’s a monster. I do miss the simplicity of maintenance and repairs on the 2.0ts because removing the superchargers on the 3.0ts are a nightmare 😵‍💫

100% agreed. I actually now only run my crackle tune when I head out to a car meet but other than that, it’s the standard, more quiet stage 2 tune. I don’t go to a lot of car meets so it’s not really a pain to switch over.

ive had my car stock for ab a year until today i ordered the IE Stage One and And a IE Intake For my B8.5 A4 any clue if this will have turbo flutter or no. I saw your video on the IE Intake but im not sure if you had a diverter valve spacer or not during that video.

as mentioned in the video, all has to be done before the IE stage 2 tunes can be done on the car. You can get someone/shop to tune your stock car to have pops and bangs (if you add a downpipe) but then you run a much bigger risk of shortening the life of your engine because a "custom" tune/setup is not as reliable as an entire kit put together by IE that's been rigorously tested and has little to no issues on reliability.

Hey whats up Flexx!, quick question for the tune do the parts intercooler,intake, and highflowcat have to be from IE in order for the tune to work?, or can it be the same parts just different brand?.

So the IE stage 2 tune really only requires the IE downpipe. So I would pair the IE tune with the IE downpipe. That’s a must. The IE intake and IE intercooler is not required to run the stage 2 tune so you can technically run the stock intake and intercooler. However, I recommend getting an aftermarket intake and aftermarket intercooler cause it will help get more outta the stage 2 tune, and those aftermarket parts will last longer and won’t prematurely fail. I’m not a fan of mixing and matching parts but since those 2 items aren’t truly required to run the stage 2 tune, you could go any route you want as long as they don’t decrease performance (like a cheap intake that has a filter that restricts airflow or sucks in hot air….or an intercooler made of a lot of plastic parts which soaks up heat).

Any. S-line is just cosmetics. Has nothing to do with the engine or exhaust or anything mechanical.

Bro…he’s talking about a regular A4 and an A4 S-line. My car is an A4 S-line so it has the same front bumper as an S4. Nobody said anything about an S4.

I have a straight piped Audi a6 and I went stage 2 with crackles drove around for a bit and it’s like an Ak 47 I love it but I went back to regular stage 2 bc I heard that if you are too aggressive it can cause damage over time and I wanted to check in with you to see if that is true

Depends. If you are running an IE stage 2 crackle tune with proper recommended parts (intake, intercooler, high-flow cat) then you'll be fine. But if you are doing your own thing with downpipes or straight pipes and the stage 2 tune you are running (not sure if you are referring to IE or some other brand) is too aggressive, yeah...you might have issues. I did everything IE on my car to be safe then frankensteining my car with random parts and brands. My car is a daily driver and I'm not risking doing damage or being broken down on the road.

I think you should be fine then. And if you are straight piped (no cats, no resonators, no mufflers)...then you have nothing to damage after the engine since the extra fuel is just popping inside the headers/exhaust tubing.

Does IE code out the check engine light with a test pipe I can’t find the answer at all . I understand it does with high flow but what about test pipe

I have a 2015 a3 quattro, would just a high flow cat suffice or would you recommend a downpipe as well? Trying to avoid downpipe because it would be an additional $1200

If you are trying to just have a shop cut out your old cat and weld in a high flow cat as a replacement, you might as well get a high flow catted downpipe since the install is easier and will last longer cause there’s no welding and the downpipe material is stronger and has a larger diameter for more performance gains. If you wanna stay legal you would get a catted downpipe but you need to do your own research for where you you. Catless downpipe are for off-road purposes only. Not street.

Yes you can. It’s only recommended to get an intake but you can run stage 1 on stock components.

According to the ie website it appears the intercooler is optional although highly recommended. The question is will the ie catted downpipe along with the cold air intake be enough to handle stage 2 without issue? Or is the intercooler absolutely necessary? (Sorry nothing to do with the crackle)

Here’s my take on it. Stage 1 tune i feel like you can get away with oem components. However, stage 2 tunes are more aggressive and oem parts can do the job to support a stage 2 tune but you run the risk of parts failing. Stage 2 tunes will make the engine work harder and I feel like more air (aftermarket intake) and more cooling (aftermarket intercooler) is needed to keep the car reliable while it works harder on getting the max output of the stage 2 tune.

I’ve seen a lot of people aggressively tune their cars, leaving everything oem except installing a catless downpipe…and in a matter of months…time for an engine rebuild or blown turbo.

Did you have to add oil after the crackle tune? I did the tune and I noticed that my car did start burn lots of oil, usually a quart every 1k or so, I did add 1 quart in like 300 miles. I also saw black liquid coming for the exhaust so let me know if you know anything about a situation like this.

You have a problem with your car. Not the tune. Tune has nothing to do with your wear and tear problems on your car. Your head gasket is probably shot. Get it checked at a shop cause you’re leaking oil into your cylinders and it’s burning up.

2.0s are notorious for burning oil. It’s not a head gasket. Your piston rings are clogged

Hi, what about your gas mileage now, did the pops and bang tune affect it? I had it on my Audi TT MK2 and gas mileage went down like crazy so I got rid of the tune.

Don’t know. I never tracked it. Gas mileage probably will suck cause your dumping extra fuel to get the get the pops and bangs inside the headers/downpipe/exhaust.

I didn’t take my car to an inspector with the crackle tune. Only the regular stage 2 tune. Drive around for a few days after the tune and then the system is ready for inspection. Passed no problem 2 years in a row.

It depends on the model of the dongle you have. Mine worked with the laptop and app (after I did a firmware update to it). You will need to check with IE which dongle you have and if it will work using the app.

There’s no kit for a Benz. Everything needs to be done custom. I don’t recommend it but most people get a high flow cat or cat delete downpipe installed…and then get the car tuned by a tuning shop for the pops/bangs. Not sure how reliable it will be since it’s all custom tuning and it’s not a proven, reliable kit sold to the masses like the one for my Audi in the video.

Go to IE’s website, reach out to them and tell them your car model and what you want. They’ll tell you exactly what you need to do and what to get. At minimum, you will need a high flow cat down-pipe and a stage 2 tune.

No but your not gonna get the most performance outta the tune. It’s mainly designed to work with an intake and intercooler for max power output.

It’s pretty good as a daily. I always drove in “S” sports mode. The only thing is it tends to drone at lower rpms. When my wife drives the car, it would drone a lot since she doesn’t drive the car hard. And she hated it. But it’s nothing a resonator welded in would fix. I would recommend, after the new downpipe install, tohold onto your stock downpipe just incase you need to rob the resonator from it.

Ah I see, yea right now I have my mid resonator deleted along with the muffler deleted, which is then a Y pipe for quad tips. I'm just deciding now if I get a test pipe (to replace the cats) so I could then tune it for some pops and burbles. I appreciate the burbles and a nice loud pop here and there but I don't just want it to be obnoxious and just pop loud for 10 seconds straight, and I hate how the pops are like spread out by a second you know? Ehh…it’s there but it’s not super annoying to me. I have to drive at higher rpms in S (sport) mode so the drone dissipates. If I drive on regular mode D, the rpms are lower and I get some droning. But that’s what you get for doing mods like I did. It’s gonna happen. My wife doesn’t like the drone at all. I was going to get a resonator put in but I already sold the car as is.

I don’t think anyone makes a tune for a Benz like this. You usually need to find a tuning shop like Eurocharge to do a custom tune on your ecu to make it do crackles.

So I have b8.5 a4 and got IE intake, Ecs intercooler with turbo charge pipes. Blow off valve, turbo muffler delete, IE downpipe, I got same cat back exhaust setup as yours. My car comes from factory with the ability to run E-85, I’m looking to get the 100 octane crackles. Any advice on how to do that and If I should run it or get back to 93.

I have the tune and my car run e-85 from the factory. But I don’t know if I should fill it up all the way with e-85 or should mix it with 93
