This is what has been missing from the beauty community for so long. I have to comment, have loved your channel for yrs and yrs. I'm as white as white can be and personally I love creators of color and their content. I find I get my love of colorful eye looks from women of color more so than creators closer to my skin tone. And yes Angelika and Heather have some of the best colorful eye looks but that is not the norm, that I have found. Years ago when mainstream makeup brands were so into bland neutral colored eye palettes I was able to find brands like klarity, playing in make-up by yolanda and juvias place, to name a few. And I found them through creators of color. If it glitters, without glitter, is shiny and colorful I'm wanting it.

Don’t feel bad, I went home with nothing from white elephant but I was so excited when I would hear “the CHARGER!!” When people were stealing. That made me feel good and I was worried like, I’m not bringing a beauty item but I think it’s useful hopefully someone else does too and doesn’t think it’s the worst gift! Haha.

I adore Hautemess Tom! Would be cool like a hotel with suites with common rooms and floors. So there’s a private area for those who identity as women and those identify as men. I get that, I’m asexual, and would be very uncomfortable with undressing or something with possibly someone who would sexualize me in any way. I’ll say this, I’d feel totally safe around Tom. I think I did see some dumb shit on Reddit but I didn’t connect it with this trip as I wasn’t aware of it at the time. It was actually thoughtful to share the trip with posts and vidoes and since it was a FRIEND trip, y’all could’ve just kept it private! I know I have possibly negative feelings/thoughts about some of the influencers, but I keep that to myself. If it was a paid brand trip, I might not. It’s actually none of our business what people do on their leisure time and kinda like going to a network conference, it’s not really like you have control over who is coming or going. Peope just don’t think things through before being egotistical and judgemental.

You're absolutely right: there's no part of the US that was not built on human misery and exploitation, and that doesn't still rely on misery and exploitation to keep the system grinding along. I guess the difference to me is that most places aren't capitalizing on it the way Charleston does. I found you through Angelica and the Influencer Trip, and have just hit the 'subscribe' button as judging from this episode, I'm loving your personality and style, and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Glad to hear you got to go on a 'girls' trip and for the connections you made but I’m sorry to hear you felt uncomfortable as a black person in Charleston.  I’m Swedish and live in the UK with my husband. We’ve been to the US quite a bit (never to Charleston though) and it always surprises me how many different ways racism takes shape in the US (Atlanta is the most bizarre!). Sadly, I must say that the worst example of racism we experienced as a mixed race couple (hubby is from West Indian descent) was when we visited family in St Vincent, walking down the street with my hubby and father-in-law I was shouted at, sworn at and told I was ‘steeling’ a good black man and that ‘everyone knows why a white woman is with a black man’.  Although I’ve personally been through worse, it did make me uncomfortable. We have since been to many West Indian Islands and none have been as bad as St Vincent, I still get the ‘angry’ stares but at least I’m not spat or shouted at. Hubby tend to get the 'disappointed' looks, lol. To finish on a more positive note - you are gorgeous girl!!

I was thinking when I started the video that "I haven't watched Tina for too long, only since about since late 2013". Then I stopped folding laundry and was like um, that's a decade... lol. My opinion will probably be unpopular. But i don’t care. 🤣🤣Girls trip, great idea. There was one trans there, but still a girls trip. I love this. Women’s spaces are being invaded by men so much now, so it was lovely to see this trip. The boys can do their own boys trip when they want. Let the girls have this one. I can see Brands are going to want to jump in on the next creator trip. Please don’t let them take control. They will ruin it.

I can’t believe the Uber driver said that to you guys, as if that is some kind of tourist tf attraction. That makes me feel sick to my stomach even imagining people calling a plantation beautiful, because it’s the ugliest kind of place I can think of.

Yeah, carolina people are not particularly nice there. They don't really greet their customers. It's very rare you meet someone. That is good to their customers. Virginia, even though Virginia and Carolina , is the South. It's like night and day I'm from Virginia. I went to Myrtle Beach. I didn't like it. Virginia Beach is much better.

Hey Tina You started your video saying you can’t catch a break but never elaborated on that. Also, there were many black slave owners worldwide (and still are, primarily in Africa). I urge you to read anything by Shelby Steele. I think you would find it quite eye opening.

I’ll follow up in another video as I mentioned. I know there were and are non-white slavers and owners. I know the history well so my eyes are open. That doesn’t negate the horrific history in this country.
