Maybelline and other big companies as long as I have been alive for commercials and ads for mascara have always had the model wear false eye lashes. Always. I am 50 years old and can promise you this. Mikayla is taking all the heat when in reality it's these makeup companies that need to apologize for the deceptive marketing to women for decades now. It's always been this way. Don't blame the model or influencers blame the companies. Go back and look for yourself at their own mascara commercials and ads

@@Willowtree82 not sure how your age plays into her credibility but I’ll play along-I am 53 and I am not sure if you follow her on TikTok and are aware that she does not disclose when she has been gifted something or when a video is an ad. This is blatant violation of FTC Guidelines. And when these make up companies uses false lashes in their commercials, they disclose it-the disclosure is on every single TV ad. Not to mention her use of filters which skews the results of the product she’s hawking and effectively dupes the viewer. Or that she obviously is buying followers because her subscriber count goes up by exactly 100k every few days-EXACTLY 100k for weeks now. It is a combination of things with her-very problematic. I choose to follow who is most aligned with my principles and I try to live my life with integrity. If she wants to use filters and false lashes more power to her, it’s her choice but at least be forthcoming and disclose when the law says you should and don’t double down and lie when your viewers ask you about it--check out the comments on that TikTok if she hasn’t dirty deleted them. What it comes down to is-I have the right to my opinion, as do you.

When I bought and tried the Maybelline Glass Setting Spray, I was really underwhelmed at first, disappointed. But now I use the mini hand fan I see how good it looks after all. I get the vibe that makaila is jealous or something. Like not once did she compliment Nikki. Not saying she has or had to but you could tell makaila was very much fishing for validation from her choices and things she would say. I’m going to post this here too, Camera angles change everything, phones distort the face when your face is that close. We also can’t usually see her body and that also throws off the visuals. It’s a trick of the camera. She looks the same to me, you can especially tell in her videos where you can see her body. Although it is tilted again, at a flattering angle. I don’t see anything wrong with that.
