I like Karl Howman, he's a good actor, and well versed in light comedy, good enough to have been written in as a new character. I seriously dislike, old characters being replaced by new actors...

Hang on just a minute... Smifff wore his watch on his right wrist, now for some strange reason he's wearing it on his left.. (looks both ways) look I don't want to alarm anyone but... and call me paranoid if you like but... well.. I 'think' we might have an imposter..

I was a carer for a lady who did exactly that with the marshmallows but with more milk in her cereal bowl. She lived in a big house and it was some distance to the kitchen from where she was eating. It was all done deliberately as she was like that with everyone. Nobody could stand her.

Those poor boys will never forget Marsh until the day the die!

Binge watching this over the last three days and it's gotten worse and worse as it's gone on, the new Smith character and this season 5 writing is bloody awful.

It seems the quality dropped in the last season... :>/

Never saw Series 5 on TV - Like a lot of good shows. Spoilt by trying too hard, such a shame

have to say, as much as i like this series, marsh is killing me, i really cannot take much more of him, and i am glad it will all be over soon. i hope he gets what he deserves, in the end, but i can't see it coming. marsh is effectively the hero of this series, he is a sympathetic character, and i worry that he reflects something ingrained in both the writers, and most of the audience of this show. i would like to see marsh properly corrected, before the show ends, but i suspect the writers and the audience are all far too fond of him, far too sympathetic, for that to happen. will see..

Omnopon could only be administered by a RGN they are only ward orderlies, also usually as a pre, med it would of been administered intermuscular. I know it's only a comedy show.

Script was getting very old and done by this episode. Marsh should have gone by now and new blood brought in

Hindsight's a great thing but perhaps season 5 was just one season too far for an otherwise excellent sitcom. A new location (which doesn't quite work as well as the previous two), a new Jakey (not that Robert Lindsay's replacement was no use...it's just awkward that no one acknowledges this!), a rather subdued Corporal Marsh (compared to the manic persona of previous series) plus muted roles for Alice Marsh (whose performance is key to bringing out the comedic value of her husband) and Matthew (who needed Jakey as a foil and is almost superfluous to series 5). Little niggles but, added together, the final series is, as is so often the case with sitcoms, perhaps just one series too many. Still very watchable but that's the trouble when a show sets the bar so high - any slight lowering of quality becomes more noticeable.

This great show was due to end I blame Marsh they needed some new blood Wolfie should of stayed I reckon

Its at this point the whole series goes downhill. The change in actor for Jakey Smith was an ill thought out disaster and the storylines boring.

Series 5 was a big mistake and my mistake is watching it.

This show made for some actors ie David Jason Carl Howman without them there wouldn’t be brush strokes and of course only fools and horses 😊
