Laravel is an easy-to-learn framework for building web applications. It has become hands-down the most popular framework for writing apps with PHP. Now that Laravel is at version 8, it's a perfect time to learn it!
Join Jeremy McPeak as he teaches you everything you need to get started with Laravel 8. You'll start with the basics: installing Laravel and creating your first app with routes and view templates. You'll build from there, practicing skills like organizing your app code with controllers, saving data to a relational database, and validating user input.

Thank you so much, I've tried Laravel when the 8th version was just released and there were no tutorials on that version, just previous tutorials and some videos saying: new features of laravel 8, now don't do it, do sth else instead, and it was hard to grasp the conventions and how I should properly write and structure my code. Thanks to your tutorial I'll be coming back to Laravel and I'll be waiting for more tutorials from you about Unit and Feature Testing

Hi, I'm finding this tutorial really helpful, but I can't get past 1:53:00, because I'm getting this error "Class 'App\Models\Guitar' not found". Guitar.php exists in Models, and the store method uses new Guitar() as expected. use App\Models\Guitar is initialised at the top of the controller. 'guitars' => Guitar::all() throws an error. 'guitars' => self::getData() never throws an error - and this is the only way I can see the UI. Can you please help me out? Thanks.

When submiting the form to create a new guitar (1:52:10) I am getting the "could not find driver" error, the mysql extension is already enabled on PHP.ini so I am not sure what the problem is. Is there any other thing that can be preventing the driver from being accessed? The php artisan migrate command worked perfectly and the tables were created normally.

i have a question should we validate the data both with javascript and the server side ? i mean for example the user does not put anything to the input so we get it by the javascript not the server side before it goes to the server side we do not let the user submit the form !
@envatotuts
@envatotuts Жыл бұрын
True, but if someone is trying to add data without using the frontend, you will not catch it if you don't validate on both sides. Rule of thumb: always validate everywhere and trust no one!

If your just starting to learn something, go with the most current version. But, stuff learned hear should be usable in a newer version as well. Laravel doesn't usually change that much between versions.

can we use this syntax instead because by using this syntax my code don't show error and i don't need to change parameter name from $id to $guitar as you can see i am passing second parameter as a variable not as an array i know your approach is expandable in future if we need to pass more than one parameter but what about if we use ['id' => $guitar['id']] i think again we don't need to change parameter name.Actually i dont want to debate on the parameter name instead i just wanted to say we can achieve same result without renaming parameter. Really appreciate your feedback Love your content your explanation is awesome Keep it UP

in my opinion you get that error because you didn't pass parameter at all at first try. =============================== Route list =============================== my route is also expecting parameter name guitar and it didn't care whether i pass id or guitar as parameter name in blade syntax route function. Hmm, why do I feel so isolated in the opinion that while the frameworks become more and more advanced, it all became more about semantics and abstraction layers and less about the core features and knowledge of the underlying language and technology? I am still much more confident (in control) doing all this staff with pure PHP, but I guess it's only me.
@bebernessa
@bebernessa 2 жыл бұрын
I had this exact same mindset too. But lately I’ve been coming around more and more to frameworks because as much as I like to do my own raw coding, I quickly got tired of reinventing the wheel with each project. Frameworks provide something to build off of and they let you dive right into what you need to start with on your project, and not so much need to worry about the ground work to get there first. Yes each framework has their methods and syntax and structure you have to learn, and having the base knowledge of what that framework uses definitely helps you master that faster, but once you get a grasp on what that framework offers, it makes your future projects with it much quicker to get going. Keep an open mindset and focus on those frameworks that make the most sense to you.
