Pride Promotes Strife
• Pride happens when you are before God in life
• You are the issue in your issue
• Remove pride; strife will leave
How? Position God before you
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong
motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (James

• God might not want what you want
• Your problem isn’t God; it’s you
How? Check your motive
You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting
with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and

Anything we do on our own hurts our relationship with God
Do Not Judge
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and
destroy. But you-who are you to judge your neighbor? (James 4:12

Being judgmental is telling God that you can handle Earth better
Do Not Boast
Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this
or that. (James 4:15 NIV)
As it is, you are full of your grandiose selves. All such vaunting self-importance is evil. In fact, if you know the right thing to do and don’t

Boasting is doing anything on your own

someone else
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (James 4:6

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence (boldness;
humility), so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in
our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)

• Worldliness is anything that centers on you (pride, judging, boasting)
Minimize faith in me, maximize faith in Him
