Hi Jennifer, I didn’t know very much about this resort until this video. It’s a beautiful resort and it looks like a great place to people watch. Almost like a hidden gem. Awe, thank you so much for your kind words and I can completely relate. About 4 years ago I experienced a medical situation that kept me in the bed for months. The bright spot for me also was watching Disney creators and views of my happy place. I’m so happy our content can bring you joy as you navigate a difficult time. We loved staying at Jambo House, the only downfall was having to take the buses to every park. Using the Skyliner all of the other times spoiled us, but I would definitely stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge again!!!

We are staying in a Villa Deluxe Studio in the Jambo Lodge soon. We booked a standard view but have been told that the villas will often have savannah views. is that true? I found your video to be so very helpful with other requests and will be calling to add those!

Great video!! I'm gonna stay there in a standard view Room. During my online check in, I didn't find this option for an obstructed Savannah view. How can I request this? Only in the front desk at resort?

Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching our video!! And yes, you won't see it in your online check-in area. I personally like to call before I get there to make sure they have it noted on my reservation. Typically one to two weeks in advanced (even though I have called 2 days early and they were very kind to add it). Just let the cast member know that you would like to add a room request to your reservation and then you can let them know which one you would prefer to add. I have never tried to add it at the front desk so I can't speak to that but calling ahead has worked for me about 90% of the time!! Good luck and I hope you have an amazing trip!! 💜

Wow this is such an amazing tip! I kept going back and forth between booking a savanna view or standard and ultimately decided to save money, but I’ll give this a try! How do I find the number to call to add a request? I feel like whenever I call the hotel it just takes me to the general WDW booking que. TIA!

@@nikifullmer931 Yes, that’s how I normally do it. I call the general Resort booking number and have my reservation number ready. Typically any cast member can help you with this or they can transfer you to the right line. Thanks for the kind words and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed you get your request!! Either way you will have a magical time. It’s an amazing resort. 💕

A 20 min walk back to the lobby? The end of the Zebra and Kudu trails are ~850 ft from the front door of Jambo. Being generous even 1,000ft walk is only 4 minutes. You could walk from your room in Jambo to the end of Kidani in maybe 20 mins.

I was once at the very end of the Kudu trail... and yea, it's like 5 minutes to the lobby. I don't think she walked it at all. Also, "close the the lobby" for a Savannah view isn't a good Savannah view if you are on the Zebra trail. You will be directly facing Arusha Rock where there will be dozens of people watching the animals, and you, if you're on your balcony! We were in the first building 3rd floor (ground level) on the Zebra trail. I asked them to move us the next morning, which they did. They were very understanding. I have a feeling that wasn't the first time that was requested lol
