This is one of the best videos I’ve seen about cattle management. It clearly answered many of my questions.

I reside in Encino California. After listening to this rancher one thing is certain the principle of business is the same. Understand the fundamentals.

Me too, fell asleep listening to it and started it over right when I woke up, then again to take notes.

And one more thing: why would you even use fertilizer when you're raising cattle that ough to produce more than enough natural manure?

There is revolutionary info here that can save farms. Q: when do you separate calves from cows, or do ya?

Btw those fuel prices from 2012 are still laughable compared to diesel or gas prices in Europe. The price is at least the double for our farmers + there are constant restrictions if they're in an EU country. It's slowly but surely becomming the new USSR (minus the military power so far).

My sympathies. Britain was ruined by the common market, and I still pray they are able to leave. remember talking to a British shepherd about mandatory microchipping. Socialism is urn by people who have no idea how to preserve the environment or manage an effective society.

So I've watched a few videos about this before and maybe I'm getting this wrong, but this is only doable in areas with little to no snowfall, correct? I've seen a guy grow corn, that's tall enough for the cattle to find even in snow. But without enough land to give up a field for enough corn to get through the winter, this method is useless, isn't it? Unless you wanna go out ploughing the snow off of the fields, lol. I'm guessing 3+ feet snow is too much for this method. Or am I getting it wrong?

I live in Wisconsin and we can see up to 4 feet of snow per season but rarely have more then 12 inches on the ground which a cow can forage on

You didn't really take inflation into account. For example, that tractor in 1973 would cost $21000 in 2012. Cattle in 1973 would be $274 in 2012.

Does anyone know where the other half of this is? He kept mentioning someone who had some pertinent information to bring more of the picture into focus without overlapping or giving bad information (assuming because Gerrish was endorsing him).

I'd suggest you subscribe to Greg Judy's youtube channel. He posts a lot of great videos. Also, you might consider Jim's book "Kick The Hay Habit". It's a great read. There are several books on this topic, let me know if you'd like some other titles. The Stockman Grassfarmer is an excellent monthly magazine as is Graze.
