Dr. Ryan Beard joined our team in September 2021 as the only full-time cardiologist in our area, seeing patients at William Newton Cardiology and performing cardiovascular procedures in our new, state-of-the-art cath lab. A Kansas native, Dr. Beard is board certified in cardiology. He received his medical degree from the KU School of Medicine in 2008 and began practicing in Wichita as an interventional cardiologist in 2015 after completing his residency and fellowship. He joined the active medical staff at WNH thanks to a partnership with Heartland Cardiology in Wichita.
Dr. Beard offers office visits and hospital consults, and serves as the medical director for William Newton Hospital's cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab), which opened in January 2020. William Newton Cardiology commonly treats patients for chest pain, heart arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, and peripheral vascular disease, including aneurysms and blockages in the vessels in the lower extremities. When not in the clinic, or performing procedures in the cath lab, he also spends time reading studies, EKGs, ultrasounds, and stress tests.
In his free time Dr. Beard enjoys spending time with his three kids, as well as taking part in activities like exercising, fishing, hiking, hunting, biking, cooking, and sports.
