my situation is pretty weird. i'll give the full story because i've got nothing to lose. i'm a guy. i'm also a person of color (african american.) i met a guy at camp. he's south korean, born in seoul. we talked a little bit at camp, as much as we could since we had different day schedules and we only really ever saw each other at mealtimes. (he was really busy because he was in the theatre intensive, which required a lot of focus and energy. he was already jetlagged from the flight and camp wasn't making it any better.) luckily, i got some of his socials (as in, phone number and discord.) after camp, he went straight back home. 5,995 miles away from LA, where i live. we're now split up, as camp ended about a week ago. i realized i had a crush on this guy pretty much the moment i met him. he's really handsome, and sweet, and he has a lovely singing voice. i pretty much liked everything about him. now, when we'd first met, he wasn't super talkative, for a few reasons. one, the language barrier between us, two, he was probably just nervous, like me. naturally, i didn't mind. we have a lot in common, and i really liked sitting and hearing him talk. he has a really nice speaking voice (in both languages, as i know a bit of korean and tried my best to speak as much as possible when around him) and i could honestly listen to him talk about anything. as camp progressed and he got more busy with his intensive, he got a bit more distant. this... didn't make me feel great, but i knew it didn't have to do directly with ME, because i hadn't done anything and understood the pressure of the class, as i had a friend in my dorm who had the same class as him. we talked best and most often on discord, where we didn't have to face each other physically and try to get over the barriers and curveballs of physical interaction. we had very short conversations, but we spoke, nevertheless, and this made me happier than anything. so, now that camp is over, i want to keep our relationship going, even if we just start off as friends. as i said before, there's really nothing i *don't* like about this guy. he's pretty much everything i could ask for. but, i don't want to put too much pressure on him. which is why i make sure to text him when i know he may be awake (16 hour time difference between seoul in LA, keep this in mind) and keep my questions simple and short. i just want to start off as his friend, and see where we can go from there. he's a really sweet guy, honestly. i'd do anything for him. anyway. that's my story, lol. i'll update when something happens. i have faith in this subliminal and myself. :)
