People love clowning on these movies because it’s YA and a lot of it is corny but I LOVE the vibe of the first movie. It has like small production vibes but is still decent quality. The filter. The costuming and makeup. Idk how to explain it it’s just such a cool movie vibe.

Bruh I am a guy and I freaking love twilight. The fights are bad ass, I like the cringey romance love triangle. The vampires are all hot and so are the werewolves. Robert Pattinson is a dope actor and I love Taylor, it sucks that his career didn't kick off after these movies. I love the way Kristen plays the awkward teenager.

@@morticias5043 The author released another book called Midnight Sun, which is just the first Twilight book, but from Edward's perspective. In that book, they explain that when you see the vampires in the sun, the way they sparkle makes it look like they're on fire (like, from far away, idk).

Robert Pattinson sings the song, Let Me Sign, that plays when Bella is fighting the venom after being bitten. He lucked out to have that song and another track Never Think on the album after sharing a CD he made with costar Nikki Reed, and she shared it with the Director. These films, soundtracks, and books will hold a special place in my heart because it was a bonding experience for me and my sis-in-law. IMO the movies get better as they go along. The lore for this franchise is vampires are cold and solid (compared to marble) so they break and crack during fights. Their eyes change color based on feedings (amber when full, black when hungry, and red when eating human blood), so Bella zeroed in and questioned his eye color in their first chat. His eyes were black the day she first went to the chemistry class, so he was trying to hold his breath for the whole class, but Rob didn’t quite pull that scene off without looking possessed, lol. Also Jacob is sharing his tribes history with Bella because he thinks it’s all just myth and stories, not truth. He also just wants to talk to her because it's something she's showing interest in.

Did you watch this growing up cuz for me growing up when around the time when Twilight first came out I was a big Spider-Man Batman transformer and iron Man fan will to be fair I was in elementary so I was a kid but I had no interest in this type of stuff and I was a kid always thought that this type of stuff is for like teenage girls now as an adult I still think these are for teenage girls back in the early 2000s

also idk about outtakes but the DVD commentary was pure gold. roberts pattinson and kristen stewart and the director where funny and tried their best (for better or worse what was happening on screen xD ) describing each scene and what their internal monologues were or how ridiculous something was, its worth a watch honestly

the glittery skin was very unique when it comes to vampire lores. as far as i remember, the reasoning is that their skin becomes diamond like. hard, cold and indestructible… and it made them look prettier and the dynamics romanticized. 😂

Bella whether she realizes it or not is forcing Edward to take responsibility for his actions when she tells him, "I trust you." Now it's on him not to attack her. Of course he could any time. He tells her to stay away from him because he can't control himself, but she turns it around and places the responsibility on him because he's the one with superhuman strength and speed -- it really is up to him to control himself.

As a middle-aged man when this came out, I couldn't stop bashing it. Then, after years, I actually watched it. Liked it a lot! And I liked the sequel even more (me and a dozen middle-aged woman in the theater in the middle of the day, midweek). Not every movie is as good, and don't really like Bella, but very much enjoyed the ending of the series. Read the book and hated it, though.

Let's go!!! Glad you enjoyed it more than you thought! Many say that Robert and Kristen acting is plain bad in this, but I disagree, not only because prior and after this movie they proved otherwise, but because it takes a good actor/actress to play weird teenagers, in a weird relationship and I know sometimes they look silly, say silly things or act silly, but that is what being that age is, even Robert said that being all emo and edgy was the only way to portrayed Edward and I agree. Not saying Edward lies and gaslights Bella, not saying the red flags are there, but he is trying not to tell Bella he is a vampire, cuz it's not only HIS secret and he broke the rule by saving her, but also wants her to know because he doesn't want to lie to her, for example if Clark Kent lied to Lois to try to keep his secret safe, no one would blame him, but it's Twiligth and it's a teen romance film with not gory vampire stuff so...

I find the glitter skin interesting because of “buckyballs,” a flexible form of diamond. If their skin is that diamond tough, and it appears to be, then each pore would refract sunlight the same way diamond does. And in most vampire lore, their chosen human and they have an intense emotional connection; in some stories, the human can actually die if the vampire leaves. I think the author drew on all of that.

Great reaction to this movie. It's mad how we see Edward hesitate many a time but we never see Bella hesitate about him. I personally hate her character in the franchise but for what the movie is it works. Looking forward to your reaction in part 2. PS the disco ball with Edward is so true and many people also did not like that about the vampires.

I kept tearing up from laughing so hard. This reaction is like a role reversal with Jaby being Achara and Kristen being Jaby (also him not noticing the irony of it all). At times, Kristen's reaction to the movie and Jaby was very reminiscent of Truman's boiling point reaction to Meryl's final product placement in The Truman Show.

1. Great soundtracks to these films. 2. My kids were just the right age when these movies came out. 3. RP has a clown face in some of these shots 4. KS has such a clipped, unemotional way of speaking. 5. I have fun replacing the word vampire with umpire just to make me laugh. “I know what you are”, “say it”, “umpire”. 😂😂😂

When you said “disco/glitter ball” I had to laugh: there is a spoof on the Twilight series of movies where Edward stands in the light with a disco ball glitzing & rotating below his waist!!! I think it was called Vampires Suck.

Great reaction! Looking forward to more 🙏😊 Edi Gathegi, the actor for Laurent, was born in Kenya and grew up in California, so the accent you were picking up on was probably Kenyan-American (unless they asked him to put on a different accent for the character, not sure) 🤷

What it comes down to with these movies is that it would all make so much more sense about their behaviors and the things people think that is weird if you read the books. So much was left out in the movies but because I had read the books I understood what was happening. Also, the books were written from a dream that Stephanie Myers had where Edward and Bella were passing in the flowers and Edward was sparkling which is why the vamps sparkle. Great reaction I enjoyed it. 😊
