We've finally reached the end of our reactions to cutscenes from Mortal Kombat 1! Liu Kang is joined by the gang (Geras, Kitana, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi) to take out alternate versions of themselves and other characters in order to save their timeline.

Do be sure to watch the Arcade Tower endings, as unlike previous games, they all intertwine and showcase what happens after the ending of the main story (with some pre-match intros even making reference to them).

There's a video that has them arranged in an approximate chronological order. Definitely find that one. There are a couple hot reveals the endings build up to that produce some really nice hype for the next game.

The pyramid which the final chapter takes place is the Pyramid of Argus, a major setpiece for (you guessed it) MK Armageddon.

This entire game was its own version of the 3D era. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi teaming up? Deadly Alliance. A great evil posing as "Damashi" convincing the good guys and bad guys to work together? Deception. A final battle between the armies of light and darkness atop a pyramid to either prevent or cause the end of all things? Armageddon.

You know what's REALLY interesting about the final battle, if you chose a different character, you'll get half a set of new character combinations and gender swaps, and a few repeating. So there's at least 30+ combos, and all with punny names. (Scorp-Lao/Stung-Lao, Quan-li, John Kahner, Janet Cage, Kanya and SO much more)

There's a whole bunch that are I think randomised who you fight. The game really wants you to replay with multiple characters.

I love how Liu Kang smiles after Johnny thanks him, because it's Johnny who said it. In the last timeline, he knew Kung Lao and Raiden long before the first tournament and knew they had honor no matter the timeline. He knew Kenshi was an honorable man who wanted to restore his clan's name and honor his ancestors. Johnny meanwhile was back to being an arrogant dick because the tournament never happened. He recruited Johnny because he wanted the Johnny he knew back. The Johnny Cage who learned to think of others and fought for what was right and just. Johnny thanking him for changing their lives showed Liu Kang he did it. Johnny Cage is once again the noble warrior he knew from the past timeline and he's happy to see his friend back on the right path.

The tower endings are cannon in this game. The writer of the game said so in a tweet. He said they’re “world building”. PS: The alternate characters that you fight on the pyramid in the ending are completely randomized. You’ll probably never see the same fights back to back to back in a different play through, which is just amazing.

The final battle with the numerous characters are all of combinations of other fighters. Clockodile= Reptile x Geras Frostbite= Sub Zero x Nitara Sentostorm= Kenshi x Rain

In my story ending I choosed my last fighter to be Kitana. Seemed the most fit for an ending (of this story) with Liu Kang beside each other. 👍 But you can always select the final chapter and try it with other characters too 😁

Mk11 had a story expansion that included all the stuff that you guys saw after Liu Kang defeated kronica. We believe that's what's gonna happen with the havoc scene we saw at the end here

If you are thinking of doing the towers i think it would be best if you do them in chronological order. All of the endings this time is most probably canon. so doing them in order would help u get the story. cuz the story expansion is also probably coming.

The pyramid is the pyramid of Argus. It was created and was debuted in the game mortal kombat Armageddon. It housed the fire elemental blaze.

Fun fact: Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind takes place in a world created by Kano because he took control of Kronika's hourglass in that timeline.

@@poransuki8203 I don't think they are going to watch it, and the movie doesn't really put too much effort to hide the fact that Kano is the Keeper of Time either. It becomes obvious long before the reveal and the reveal doesn't really impact anything in the movie. You could've removed the hourglass from the story, and overall narrative would've still followed more or less the same trajectory, because as powerful as Kano was in the movie, that could've easily been explained by all his cybernetic upgrades.

It's already been leaked that there will be a story DLC to this game. The Alternate dimension Havik we see at the end will probably be the villain in that DLC, rather than a full on sequel.

I love the vibe of "Hope" in the MK1 story. After MK9 something f_cked up is gonna be happen after they give a hope lol but this time is so very heart-warming. whatever enemies from any timeline. the heroes of the Liu Kang's new era will always assemble together. as like Liu Kang want in his peaceful vision.

I love the different throwbacks to the previous games (ie. Lots of the lines taken from MK9 and plot points like MK Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon especially at the end with the pyramid setting). Great story with the throwbacks! First or Second best MK story right with MK9!

In the last game Armageddon before rebooting the series in mk9. In Armageddon you can create your own character. Mix and match them with scorpion moves and subzero ice ball. Possibility are endless. This part of the story is a reference to that game. In the beginning of the game Armageddon they also fight in the same tower.

Have you guys seen the openings of the 3D Era Mortal Kombat yet? Now that you finished MK1, you will get the references to MK: Deadly Alliance, MK: Deception and MK: Armageddon. Even MK: Shaolin Monks. All that aside, I had a great time watching the story with you guys.

The characters at the end are just 2 characters mixed together. Like Mileena with a Quan chi skin and moveset. Goro with 4 Shao Khan hammers. Kung Lao with Raiden powers

Loved this series and game/ movie. Game movie > typical movie 😊 Mortal Kombat was always just another game with typical little plot or story to me. I watched it for what it was. But this one has really changed it. It has sprung a new life of it. Very refreshing. Liu kang and his champions are so noble and virtuous. They are embodiments of it. It was just so rejuvenating and serene to watch the first chapters and the ending part.

Kreate a Fighter (Kreate-A-Fighter) is a feature first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Kreate a Fighter allows players to create their custom characters. The Kreate-A-Fighter is fully customizable, they can be assigned a multitude of special moves from other kombatants. They are limited to one special move of each particular attack "type", though. A taunt and throw are also assigned to them.

So, Ed Boon as already confirmed story expansion on this game in the future DLC. He intends several expansions, because NRS is looking to support this game for the next 7 to 10 years. He said that eventually he wants all past MK characters to be in this game. Recently a dataminer has found some "bare bones' for a true tag team mode. We don't know if they started the game that way and scrapped it, or if its setup for a new feature in DLC. I hope the latter, cuz that would be awesome.

Liu kang smiles as Johnny has become the noble warrior he always knew he could be. In the past timeline Johnny had to go through so much to get on the right track. Johnny had to go through a divorce losing most of his money alcoholism almost losing his daughter to become a worthy and honorable man. Through these actions and events Johnny has matured quicker than he would have compared to previous timelines

This is an amazing continuation of the Mortal Combat series. Technically, this felt like a sequel to the last game, rather than a complete reboot. Incredible job, but a little messy nevertheless. I get that Megan Fox's voice acting left something to be desired, but she doesn't deserve any hate for this. The character isn't bad nor weak despite everything, and I feel like voice direction should be able to give them the tools to do better. Who signed off on this? I feel bad for any past, current, or future celebrity additions if they're not used to voice acting, because I'm doubting the quality of the training they receive.

I'm also blaming the voice direction there. She probably didn't have a clear idea what the hell was going on in the scenes she was in. I've been playing her a lot, and she sounds decent in everything else in the game. Nothing stellar, but nowhere near as bad as it was in the Story Mode. The lines she was given were also terrible. I rewatched the story in Spanish, and the voice actress in Spanish also struggled to give a convincing performance because of how weak the lines were.

The Havik ending is likely a teaser for a dlc add on for MK1 story. Like Aftermath was for MK11.

The ending is the same no matter which fighter you choose for the last chapter. I chose Liu Kang because it was the most fitting, thematically, and because he is my favorite character. I think that this is the best story mode that NRS has done yet. I hope that we get an Aftermath-style expansion.

I’m hoping that we can play the ending with the DLC characters when they come out. Having Liu Kang thank John Cena and Homelander for saving multiple timelines is too ridiculous to miss out on.

i think just like there was a continuation for mk11 after kronika was defeated i think there might be an update for mk1 storyline slowly probably the devs are working on it

I like to imagine since the older titans (from Sonya's, Scorpion's and Shang Tsung's Endings from MK11) are also canon (unless I am mistaken), those titans, instead of directly joining Liu Kang, provide him their greatest champions and warriors from across the multiverse against Shang Tsung's own multiversal army!

you dont get to use any of the characters at the end the giant pyramid and all those characters are a reference to MK Armageddon and the Create-A-Character feature it had where you could use costumes from other characters and moves to make one up

The only thing that would've made this ending better would've been in story fatality mini games on Shang Tsung and Quan Chi.
