The NBA is so storybook it is insane bro. Portland spites Miami by trading the player they wanted to their top rival in the East for Jrue Holiday, just to later move him to the only team that could realistically contend with Milwaukee. You honestly could not write this shit! 🔥

Celtics fan here, and getting Holiday is the best case scenario for my C's! And it only cost them 2 injury prone players and 2 first round picks

As a Dallas fan I can tell you that a healthy Porzingis is a very good player who is basicly unstoppable when used right. He´s a very good rim protector and really shoots from anywhere.

Time Lord to Dallas would be nuts. Gonna miss him in Boston, but I know fans will love him wherever he goes

And, aside from the depth we added that you briefly touched on, we also quietly got a steal of a fan-favorite prospect that we signed on a 2-way that looks to be the Rich Man's Rob Williams, if you can believe that, in Neemias Queta. He's been put on the right team at the right time and he knows it, so..... Licking chops over this team and the season ahead!

The Celtics look unstoppable. Outside of their stacked top-6, what if Houser, Prichard, Kornet, or any other of the C's bench raise it up a level? Last year, it was Derrick White. Even through Smart was my favorite player on the Celtics, I'm glad they've put Tatum in a position where he's the voice and face of the team. Leadership tested.

The Celtics’ first six are scary. They can play bully ball with Horford and Porzingis, or stretch you out with Tatum at the 4. An improved Derek White gets the chance to step into an even more prominent role, and Holiday adds championship experience to a core that already has plenty of playoff experience. Losing Smart and Williams III might hurt Celtics fans, but the reality is you have to give up value to get value. Swapping Smart, Williams, and an unhappy Brogdon for two legitimate all-stars in Porzingis and Holiday is a best-case scenario, not to mention that it sends Tatum and Brown the message that the franchise is committed to them.

@getitlokecoop, yes, please do a Celtics deep dive. I especially want to know how they match up against Miami, who destroyed us in the playoffs even with Smart and Rob Williams. And, you mentioned rim protection, but what if any of our 2 Centers gets injured? I feel like I want to hear about depth. I know the Celtics signed a big from the Lakers.l, but want to hear you breakdown our defense and depth and If we have a good defense coach.

If only Rob was constantly hurt now for the last season and a half. He had knee issues in college and will likely never be the same player again he was 2 years ago. When he is on the court and healthy he is fantastic, he just never is now. If you told Celtics fans they could get Porzingis and Holliday for Smart, Brogdon, 2 future draft picks and Williams, that’s a utter no brainer.

As a bucks fan, Jrue has been very inconsistent since the 2021 championship, I don't see him suddenly playing better or being the key player to create a superteam in Boston, I might be wrong, but these are my thoughts and opinions, only time will tell...

I think getting Holiday pushes the Celtics past the Bucks as the frontrunner to win the East. Dame is a great player but he's never played on an NBA team as option B...as he will with Giannis. He's also not much of a defender. Holiday is a great all-around player. He's great on defense and a good facilitator and shooter on offense. (about 38% from 3) Portland really did a number on the Bucks. Giving them Dame was huge but giving the Celtics Holiday was just as big, if not bigger, in my mind.

Rob Williams played in 35 games last season snd played 18 minutes per game in the post season... I think people's idea of timelord has become detached from the reality of timelord

This was definitely the idea with Lillard; nothing if he goes to Miami, go all out for Jrue if he goes to MIL and then the situation is kind of neutralized. We're worried about our depth

I would love a Celtics deep dive. Im a big Boston fan but losing Smart and Rob hurt more than anything I can remember other than losing Brady. The city was down bad for a few weeks after we lost Smart. I know Porzingis and Jrue are good but I have no idea what the team will look like

I'm a Heat fan and some may say that I'm a hater, but I think that the Celtics have lost a lot. Smart and Timelord were part of the soul of the team. Porzingis is solid but he needs the ball to be effective and there isn't enough ball to go around with Brown, Tatum and now Jrue. I think you're a Top 3 team in the East but I dont think that you're that much better after all the trades. We'll see how this ages come playoff time.

Celtics deep dive would be great. Include potential trades they could make before end of season. People are questioning depth and they still have a TPE and picks to use.

While Jrue is and upgrade from Smart, and the Celtics will be exceptionally formidable being one of the top 2 teams in the East. I still don't trust them. Tatum is soft, until proven otherwise. All these move are great and do make them better, but as long as Tatum is the guy, I don't see it happening, I don't think he has it in him.

Celtics are going to trade for a guy to bolster the front court. At the deadline they will probably send salary filler and a first plus a couple seconds for a solid backup big. They better not trade Horford in the deal though, he's too good in minutes vs Embiid and Giannis in the playoffs even at his age.

Marcus, Grant and Timelord were 3 of my favorite Celtics ever It's tough to see them all go in one off season. Great guys, great players. Marcus especially was the heart and soul of the team. That will be impossible to replicate but if Jrue can approximate what he brought this team could be special. Biggest question is consistency- they looked like the best team of all time to start last year and had stretches where they looked like one of the worst. Maddening inconsistency. We'll see if Joe has what it takes in year 2- he's the biggest ? to me.

How I think of the Celtics offseason, as a fan. We traded Brogdon + Rob for KP and a 1st. Then we traded Smart and a 1st for Holiday. And trade Grant for 2-3 2nds. We definitely upgraded Rob to KP. And the 1st we got in that trade, netted us Jordan Walsh and 2-3 more 2nds. I believe the Smart to Holiday move to essentially be lateral due to the trade-offs each brings. But also by moving on from Grant and Brog, we now have playing time for Pritchard and Hauser, who i both think fit 110% more with our team than the prior mentioned players. As well as high upside players with high defensive moters like Danalo Banton, Lamar Stevens, and Oshae Brissett. Also adding a court spacer like Svi. I think this offseason was a huge success and our roster looks a hell of a lot better especially at the top than last year, while the back end of the lineup is no slouch.

Holiday in the better chance of winning the ring with the Celtics I guarantee you he is very happy where he is right now☘️💪☘️💪

So this is why it is the worst case scenario for the Milwaukee Bucks... I don't even think it matters to argue who is the better player or not even a little: 1. Giannis doesn't like to work out with other players because.... he can't be inauthentic and be buddies and then go out and annihilate them... so some newbie gonna have to take on Jrue since I haven't heard a single former member say a single bad word about him. 2. As a big factor teammate probably even more important than just about everyone else left out on the old roster and yes I know Middleton's still there but I'm not even close to the only person who thinks this. 3. As a human being, he's been just as important to the city of Milwaukee as Giannis has -- it is his home and the city still loves him and he's just not gonna get a smidge of animosity at away games in Milwaukee that most other people do. Cities like Milwaukee -- people don't even get it. You can call Portland small market, but they're rich. Milwaukee is a blue collar city with other classes mixed in. To people like Wisconsinites we care a lot more about good humans. This is why Wisconsin is far more devastated about Jrue leaving Milwaukee than Rogers leaving Green Bay. That guy was MEH at best with a side of drama queen. Anyway -- Celtics were really smart. Milwaukee is fam city, fam team. Jrue would have to spread a lot of hate at us to change our minds on him and that's just not HIM... so no matter how good the Bucks are, the dynamic is always gonna give Jrue a +1 bonus when playing -- so Giannis and Dame (and I now they're good) are gonna always have to play twice as hard against the Celtics, without disrespecting Jrue. That's hard man. Especially since he's SO GOOD. Anyway... it was a bold trade for Milwaukee... I get it's a business, but this one hurts the heart of most WI residents. Probably would rather see him somewhere that there are a lot more annoying players ... like Jrue with Harden or Jrue with Ja LOL. His amazing karma would be balanced out with the drama. But even that, wouldn't wish it on him. I'm happy for him that he didn't get cast aside because I wanted to puke the day I heard the Bucks let him go.

And I’m really happy for the Holiday. I was sort of upset because Milwaukee traded him to Portland. And I remember Holiday saying it was a blessing being in Milwaukee. So I don’t think Giannis would’ve had anything to do with him being traded. Thanks for sharing that light. But like you say, it’s a business, and hard decisions have to be made. Now that he’s with the Celtics, I couldn’t be more happier for him and his family. I think he will be a calming force for both of these young star players, Brown, and Tatum. And he will help Kristoff as well. This should be exciting in my opinion. Because I didn’t know how the Celtics were going to compete besides the Brown, and Tatum. But now with holiday and Kristof and white either starting to coming off the bench. And they just signed the other young guard number 11. Two a three-year deal guaranteed.
