We remain at the Byrsa Hill Carthage archaeological site in Tunis, Tunisia. After examining the remnants of the Phoenician Carthage in the Hannibal District, Gerak Darma's team ascended the hill for a panoramic view of the Hannibal Neighborhood. Proceeding to the plaque that details the Hannibal Neighborhood, we observed the ruins' splendor from atop Byrsa Hill. Constructed in the early second century B.C. on land formerly occupied by metal workshops, the Hannibal District's sharply sloping topography necessitated a fan-shaped housing layout, offering more flexibility than the orthogonal grid used on the flatlands. The "Hannibal" neighborhood was not just residential; it also housed various street-facing shops, including mills, figurine outlets, and jewelry stores. Truly magnificent.
