I know this is a month ago now - but you did a great job and it's really great to see younger people really stepping up and doing their research when it comes to bunnies! The fact that your bun just jumped on your lap day 3 is insane and is a great indicator that he's going to be such a cuddly rabbit. A lot of us have to build that level of trust over an entire month or even more, so clearly he is very happy in his space and comfortable with you.

Regarding the lap thing, it honestly really depends, because it's not always dependent on the owner, if you get your rabbit from a petstore or a breeder, than they're definitely most likely going to behave that way because they're handled when they're young, however, if you adopt a bunny, they will probably not feel comfortable the first few days or weeks and that doesn't mean the owner isn't being amazing, loving, or doing a terrible job, it's just the way they're brought up. Personally I feel like those who shop for bunnies have an easier experience because they were taught to be agreeable, but when you adopt a bunny they come from all sorts of backgrounds. I'm just throwing this out for the newcomers here, just in case they put themselves down because their bunny isn't necessarily affectionate with them or comfortable with their touch when they first get them. It's natural anyways, but yeah :)

Brownie is so cute!! I am so glad you did your research! Your set up looks really cute :) it’s normal for bunnies to poop everywhere when they’re in a new territory they never went to before so don’t worry he won’t do it forever! Also if you plan on enclosing the bunny in its pen sometimes you need to build the sides higher! Brownie can definitely jump over that, but keep doing your research you’re doing amazing!

I used to have this bunny that I thought was a dog stuck in a bunny's body. I'd get home from school and he would run up to me and jump on me like a dog would. He always laid next to me and was constantly next to me. It was so fun going and getting his meals, toys, and all the stuff he needed.

I’m so glad you did your research! It makes me so happy to see! If you haven’t checked them out, Bunny Bunch Boutique has SOOO many rabbit toys, chews, treats, and hay in bulk as well! Basically anything your bunny needs is all there! I get everything from there and I really love their hay compared to pet stores. Also, once brownie is neutered (unsure if he is yet since he is so young) he should start only using the litter box! Just a little tip too beware in the future he might adventure to your bed and possibly dig at your blankets and stuff so I would start looking for a bed that’s pretty high up just in case that time comes! But there’s also a possibility he won’t :) my bun is just very chaotic ahaha I hope you have a great shift from baby bun to adult bun! @sanaahanaa5475 Жыл бұрын
Did the bunny tell you this? Please stop treating your bunny as a baby. It’s not a baby it’s an animal, a pet! I live in a small apartment with a small play pen for my dwarf bunny and she’s as happy as can be. She stays in her pen and I let her free roam a few hours a day then back in the play pen she goes. Animals can survive without all this extra stuff too so stop babying them!
@Mellanii.always Жыл бұрын
@@sanaahanaa5475 um I was being extremely friendly and was just recommending some fun things to add to the cage and bunny’s are social animals. They need a friend unless they are aggressive or not spayed. I don’t see your point?
@Devilishka7 Жыл бұрын
@@sanaahanaa5475 Of course they can survive with smaller space too. But can't tell others not to baby them. If someone wants to and have the means to spoil their bun, then why not? Pets are like babies to some of us and they're equally as loved.
@klover_leaf9 ай бұрын
@@Mellanii.alwaysrabbits are not social! They only get along with other rabbits when they're spayed/neutered. Which is obviously a Red flag. If they have to be desexed to "bond" it is NOT natural. I've never had a rabbit get upset or depressed living alone and I've had hundreds. After 12-16 weeks (when they're sexually mature) they start to fight.

I'm so glad to see someone who has done their research on bunnies and creates an approproate space instead of a small petstore cage. For litter training just be consistent with putting everything back in his litterbox consistently and get him fixed when hes the appropriate age, which will help A LOT with litter training. For male bunnies it also helps to avoid spraying behavior to mark terratory.

as a bunny owner, it is good to see that a new bunny owner has done their research and gotten a pen instead of a cage. I have 3 at home and they are free roam of a room for most of the day and when we arent home or at night they are in a pen. One tip is to save money and use a box with a hole cut in it instead of an expensive hidey house that your bunny might chew through in a matter of weeks

@@rufzelaguilar4291 Neutered means that your pets reproductive organs have been removed. I don’t know about other animals but in bunnies this can help with territorial behaviors, being less aggressive, and help them to be litter trained better and faster. You don’t need your bunny to be neutered, and all the things that I previously mentioned can happen even if it’s not neutered. It definitely helps, but there is a recovery process.

It's recomended to neuter bunnies because they become easier to handle and easier to pair with another bunny (in the best worlds bunnies should always have a friend and boys and girls are easiest to pair and the they need to be neutered for obvious reasons). Another huge reason is cancer, specially among female bunnies about 70% will get ovarian cancer unneutered and who wants that, so just giving this warning why neutering is important specially for bunnies.

Yesss!! I love how you actually researched buns! So my tip for potty training, i wouldn’t let him free roam right away. Keep him confined temporarily until he learns his litter box. Then gradually open up the space once his Hobbits are in control. Also don’t forget to get that boy neutered! Makes the potty training much easier. You also don’t really need a hay rack. Some rabbit peps feel it makes it harder for them to get hay and it’s not natural for them to eat from above (usually buns eat grass from ground). You can just put it in his litter box. It’s something to think about it. The topic is often debated. I personally don’t use hay racks. Great example of a proper bun set up!!! You had me scared when you said cage 😅😆👍💕 best luck to you and bunny brownie!! 🐰

you've done really well! you can tell you have done your research which is great xxx i would remove the hay rack, as the metal isn't good for the bunny's teeth, and just fill your litter box with hay, because they poo and wee were they eat, and tend to eat more hay that way xx i also recommend replacing the blanket with carpet, or a rug. you can get carpet from a tiles and flooring place (they often have cut outs/left over carpet) as the friction is good for the buns nails and they often can't binky and run around on blanket as it slides x

Hii Hanna, Brownie is absolutely lovely 🥰 I got some tips that I learnt from owning a bunny too: - I see you have some cables hanging from your desk, I advise you to get those as tucked away as possible and perhaps find something to bunny proof them with, as I lost a lot of chargers and electronics due to my bunny chewing them and he could potentially hurt himself. It only takes about a second for them to bite the wires and destroy them forever. 😄 - For the litter training, if he isn’t neutered yet, definitely get that sorted as it will help you A LOT with potty training. And would recommend not letting him on your bed unsupervised as they tend to enjoy peeing there. - Make sure the hay feeder is not too high up, being low is better than too high. - You can craft some toys for him, they love to chew on empty toilet rolls and it’s not bad for them, as long as they don’t eat it in excess. All bunnies are different but I hope that helps. “Lennon the bunny” KZfaq Channel is great for tips and tricks! Enjoy! 🐰💕

For a hay and litter box I'd recommend getting an under bed storage box and doing a thin layer of bedding then twice a day add a pile of hay to one end for him to rummage through. Hay racks are usless tbh as rabbits like to rummage through their hay to find the best bits to eat.

Hey just a tip from someone that has 2 bunnies, bunnies prefer their litter box to be in a corner because it’s more private for them, so I would switch where their house is to where the litter box is and Vice versa. I would recommend getting a gallon water bowls if you know what I’m talking about it saves you a lot more time rather than filling up water every single day. Try to rotate their toys because they get bored easily. Once the bunnies old enough consider space/neuter because it’s better for them in the long run and there’s a lot of benefits for that. Also baby rabbits can pick up litter training easily but once their hormones kick in and puberty gets them the litter training thing will probably stop that happened to me and I was really upset but it stopped once I got my boy neutered. You are doing great though I love the set up

@@bye427 that's interesting, can I know why you prefer them? I personally disagree with single rabbits, the enrichment Lorelei provides and taking rabbits to hoppy hour and out on leashes.

@@mw-cy1zf she has a lot of good ideas and tips and tells you how to hold free roam and potty training she tells you how to bond with your rabbits too. You can have your opinion about needing" two but it's not true for everypne

@@bye427 Of course you can have an opinion on scientific facts but that doesn't mean you're correct. Rabbits needing companions is a proven fact. But yes, Lorelei has some good tips :)

So happy for you! Watching this with my bun Luke and your set up is so amazing. The research you’ve done is so awesome. Don’t worry about the pooping problem it’s normal in a very new house and goes away with age. My bun is not neutered, is almost five, and has never had an accident outside of his litter box! Sometimes there are a few scattered poops but sometimes it’s not even something they can control lmao. Best of luck

This set up is literally amazing, couldn’t be better xx. Just make sure to keep the lamp cable away because I promise you he will try eat it 😆😆 happens to me to much.

Also wood shavings and those little hay racks aren't safe xx I would recommend pine pellet litter and a big pile of hay!
