Had a 2013 Ds4 a few years back just the 1.6 diesel and stuck 60k miles on it and loved it....bar the rough ride going over pot holes and bumps. Apart from that it was a brilliant car and would definitely get one again 👍 the new ds4 looks amazing.

Had a 2014 DS5 2L diesel manaul for a year back in 2019. Really loved the look (mine was white) but had to move on after a year as the driving position and soft half leather seats made my sciatica flare up massively. Always loved the ds5 looks, though, really has that airplane cockpit feel to it.

Great looking car. I can't say I've ever noticed one before but that interior was fab. It's a real pity you don't feel the car is right for your garage at the moment. Personally I think you're under selling yourself, as you're a good honest trader with a good set up. Could a fancy car like that also help attract attention and sales on the others on your lot? Just a thought :) All the best

She's a beauty, that centre dash / radio control panel is pretty hideous, but the rest of it is just beautiful, inside and out. All the DS styling is bang on. I think you're prolly right to trade it on, given that's it's a bit posh for your current target market (no tiled floor showroom, finance, etc) and thanks for another enjoyable video.

There’s no real horror stories with the DS5, they sit on conventional coil suspension from the C4 hatchback. The HDI engines are fantastic, this car being a 2.0 HDI it will have a proper torque converter box, not the automated manual as with the 1.6 HDI. The electrics give next to no issues either. By no means is it a comparable car to a 320d or C220d but it will certainly give less trouble than any of the German saloons.

Nice motor, can't help but think Hubnut would like it cos he does have a thing for wafty family cars these days. You are spot on trading it to another dealer, I think it is niche car that would be slightly out of place in your stock. Having said that your subscribers are likely to be people who are Citroen friendly, so a slightly unusual Citroen model like that may have garnered a lot of interest!🤔

They went down in price in about 2019 and are now on the way back up probably due to the fact that good examples are thinning and that used car prices are very high at the moment due to industry shortages, I was looking at a 2020 citroen c3 flair Automatic priced at £18500 and a brand new of the same car in a lower spec automatic was £19000, pre 2020 you could get a 3 year old sub 30000miles, 1.6 automatic Astra for less than £10000. Some of the prices are particularly eye watering £15000 for a basic Hyundai i10 automatic (people are probably more bothered about the monthly repayments than the whole cost). Equipment wise cars are much higher spec than they were 3-5years ago, cars are evolving at an extremely fast rate and not necessarily for the better.

SUV, estate, hatch but doesn't do any that well as the back seats didn't gold down anywhere near flat and the load area was not very good at carrying the sort of items I wanted it for. The DSG gearbox is well known for problems. Much improved with the EAT 8 electronic gearboxes designed by Aisin. Love my 3008 1.5 hdi eat8, getting on for three and a half years old now and mine does 60 mpg easily on a run and around 50 in daily driving. Citroen have a way of designing highly desirable cars, that are excellent long distance cruisers. My father had a CX, and i always liked it's magic carpet ride, you just never felt the bumps that make other cars shudder. I don't blame you for selling it on via the trade, as much as they are highly desirable, they can develop very expensive faults that only specialists can find. They remind me of Alfa Romeo's, everyone should own one in their lives, but if it goes wrong you need deep pockets.

Do you ever put any thought into margins on the aggregate? I'd be interested to hear about the economics behind whether you could make a lower margin with more volume and still cover warranty claims and make a profit. Let's say 25% of cars come back and cost 50% of their margin to fix, you could theoretically sell double the cars and knock 25% off the margin and still come out on top. I don't think the maths stacks up there, it's been a long day, but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm interested in.

Could be a real bargain for somebody soon. Ritchie from the UPnDOWN channel bought a tidyish 59-plate one of these for just £750, and that was 2 years ago. He used it to help Mister HubNut collect Betty the Ford Fairmont. Stone-like depreciation curve!

Another way (that I do) is cheapies bud, I bought the cheapest car of the day last week, 225 bid, pug 206,with fees 275,still got good mot, quick check over, went in 2 hours at 695,no come backs, call it 400 quid net, I've got lots of dearer stuff I won't make that on and have lots more hassle making them like new, did the same on a 55 plate Leon, 715 with fees, quick check, auto trader ad at a grand, they were fighting over it.

I do like Citroën cars, comfy and very nice to drive. Not the most sexy of cars but good solid ones. Shame James you won't take the leap into doing nicer cars. You could do so much more with the place you are renting and turn the forecourt into something much more appealing than is....and you wanted a show room which you have and again if it was tarted up it would be perfect for you to display your "nice" and more expensive cars. Take the plunge .... have faith in yourself James!!!!!

I followed your link to Bowen's, sent them an inquiry about the DS5, their website "said" they would reply soon, and 24 hours later I am still waiting. Apparently, they don't want my part exchange (4 yrs old and 16k miles), but it would have been nice to have received a reply. After a further 2 days, with no reply from Bowen's, I received an automated email from their parent company, Cook and Sons. Bowen's claim to not know about my enquiry. Incompetence!!!

I now have found the enquiry so have your details & will try to make contact tomorrow. Apologies again for the delay, we pride ourselves on replying to every enquiry whether of interest or not. Citroen and valuable two words rarely used together unless one's referring to the classics. Auto , no handbrake and bloody purple to boot 😆 Friends and family all been glad to get rid of theirs as they don't hold their value and always in the garage. Good luck to the new owner , he'll need it 🤣
