Hello Lauren, I haven’t commented in a while due to personal issues, but wanted to say I’ve been watching your videos & it’s been lovely to see the gradual personal growth in you since you had a bit of a difficult time of things last year with your mental health. I’ve followed you for quite a long time now, I have laughed with you until my ribs hurt, cried with you, and sung along with you in your tiny kitchen and car. I lost my mum suddenly and unexpectedly on her birthday in January 2022, my brother passed suddenly 9 months later, aged 44, & my Dad has been in & out of hospital with health issues since. I’m disabled, don’t drive, moved into my own adapted bungalow last December and don’t have any friends or family to help, so it’s very isolating, so you’ve kept me company since I lost my mum and during a time when I could barely breathe. With that said, & I say this with nothing but love, I am going to take a little break from your channel for a while. I’m struggling with my own eating disorder, self image, self worth, no self esteem etc.. this is not your issue, but mine. However, I am desperately trying to look after myself best I can, & I just find talk of ‘processed’ foods, what may be good or bad for us, along with the knowledge I can’t just go & work out like everyone else just a bit triggering to the point I start restricting. I think you’re a star, & I wish you so much love for your journey ahead. I will of course check back in occasionally to send you my love and see how you’re getting on, please know I will love and encourage you from afar. I simply need a little more of a safer space for myself right now. i could've gone quietly, but i've felt like you were a friend over the years (perhaps that's sad of me), & felt i should say 'see you later', & that i wish you so much love & luck on your journey. Please do give your lovely Mum all my love too. Take care Lauren, Laura xx

Oh no Lauren, I just spent the 15 minutes formulating a polite answer to an ill-informed comment and when I was finally satisfied and made sure I really did remain polite the comment wouldn't post because it's been deleted. I really was gonna give that lady my 2 cents. Grrrrrr. Anyway, I personally don't mind you showing more gym content or talking about weight loss or fitness. In fact, a suggestion if I may, when March comes around I'd love for you to bring back march for March. I loved that! I lived near a lovely park then and was really committed to taking a walk as often as possible. I guess I have fond memories of it because it helped me out of a rut back then.

I feel you 100%. I was heavily into health and fitness before the pandemic. I was going to the gym 3-4 times a week. I feel like I was having a good relationship with food, eating healthy portions most of the times but treating myself occasionnally. Then the pandemic hit, my cat died, the gym closed, I was working from home and barely moving at all. I started binge eating to cope with my emotions. Changed job to work on site, lost 20 lbs last year just in time for my wedding, then gained it all back in a matter of months. Now I'm trying to get my groove back, being healthy without restricting myself. It is a journey.

I hear you, Lauren. I lost 100lbs between 2015 & 2019, did a LOT of swimming. Then, the pandemic and awful things happening in my family (brother & parents all died) & I had to be in charge of everything, I have put it all back on. There was a lot of comfort eating. 😕 Now, I try to be active & cook my food from scratch but not, like you say, be obsessive. Your parents’ beautiful garden makes me think of my parents’ garden last year before I sold the house. Things change and we have to adapt and do our best in new situations. And be kind to ourselves. I’m like you, eating in bed!! Thank you. And I love your dresses!😊

Yes, but the focus on food, wprking out and health can contribute to stress that will make the brain of many not at all go in that direction due to the psychological mechanisms that goes into not having had that for some time. Then it’s also the aspect of people commenting changes as a positive while trying to mean well, but it’s like a judgement still which doesn’t really serve someone or anyone frankly who struggles with their mental health and actvity levels and focus on the body.

Something that helped me so so sooo much with re-entering fitness - this, it helped me to uncouple fitness and my ‘looks’ and ‘calories’…a study was done comparing calories burned between highlyyy active members of an indigenous tribe and typical Western people like us, and regardless of like steps etc it appears that people generally burn the same amount of calories (when it’s ACTUALLY being tracked!) and the theory which is MIND BLOWING is that if you are not burning calories through exercise which is good for your body, you WILL burn them but your body will use them via inflammation and anxiety. It would explain so much about why exercise makes us feel so good, why exercise alone rarely results in ‘weight loss’, why exercise is SO IMPORTANT 😭 Discovering that made me want work out for my health and not at all for the number on the scale. But weirdly when I am being active I just naturally want to eat more whole foods blah blah as it all feeds into eachother ❤️

Looking after our bodies is a form of self care. It includes what we eat and how we move and so much more. I think since turning 40 and really feeling my body age has made me realise how important looking after myself is. Things like mobility exercises are a really good thing to try.

I’ve been a sub for YONKS, so feel like I have been here for it all. Nothing could phase me!! Personally I have always struggled with eating healthy food, maintaining a healthy routine, and as a result my weight has fluctuated majorly over my life (now knowing I have adhd and get a dopamine hit from sugar/junk food helps me understand my literal addiction to it). At times in my life I can manage to have just a little, but other times things get out of balance and I find myself in a place where my weight gain makes it hard for me to keep up with my twin toddlers, and my health suffers. In those ‘rock bottom’ moments I have to very purposefully get things back to a happy medium for me and be very intentional about it. By doing that I’m not suggesting anyone else should do that, but sometimes my purposeful attempts at trying to refocus on what ‘healthy’ looks like for me draws criticism from those who don’t understand (or feel triggered that I’m suggesting they shouldn’t have the things that I was binging on). Genetically I am predisposed to a number of serious chronic illnesses including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and the list just goes on. When my weight is up, the signs are very clear that I’m on a similar path to my grandparents. I saw the struggles that came from living with those chronic illnesses up close and I don’t want that for me. Others may not understand the choices I make or why I make them, but it comes from a good place of wanting to be my healthiest overall. Just sharing that so you don’t feel alone in whatever reason you may have to make the choices you make (and not suggesting they are the same as mine at all)! Your subs love and support you Lauren! You can adapt and switch and evolve and change however you like. Your supportive subs won’t flinch. That’s nothing to ever apologise for! If someone finds something triggering, then maybe that is their opportunity to seek out more information and support as to why they feel that way. But you choosing to incorporate fitness into your routine is so admirable to me. I wish I could do it, I just can’t seem to, but I know for my overall health it’s something I need to keep working at. We are never at the destination, we’re just on our journey and it’s so cool to have been along with you on yours! Love watching you! Thanks for sharing what you do 💕

Honestly so refreshing to see someone on a similar journey! Lost 80 pounds and then gained 100 over 4/5 years. Been back on my journey the past couple with a huge focus on sustainability and making true lifestyle changes that feel GOOD. Sloooow and steady wins the race. I've been focusing less on the scale and more on how my body feels. It's been incredible and I actually enjoy the gym like what?? Love this for you - getting started is so hard so keep believing in you!!

i am in exactly the same place in my life in regards to being kind to myself when moving my body and my eating habits. we were fed horrific stories about how we should treat our bodies as women in the 90s/2000s and i'm unlearning it all now after years of hate and shame. i've been canoeing recentley with a local community group - exercise without even knowing because its so fun! its been a lifesaver for me, and met so many lovely people through it.

I always remember in one of your videos you spoke about doing things because you feel you should vs because you want to which is something I’ve really taken away from you and think that might be something to think about. Even without fitness being involved your videos are my ‘wellbeing’ videos… I kind of miss this ‘big breath’ and ‘hydration’ reminders because they help me too! 😂 We’ll always be here enjoying your chats and real life content ❤️ love ya!

Hairstylist here! Wash that chlorine out when you’re done or asap, better yet put some conditioner in your hair before going in to create a barrier on the outside and keep the chlorine from going into the cuticle of your hair and then a quick shampoo and condition after. Chlorine is so damaging for your hair if not shampooed out! Thanks for sharing your story, same struggles over here and love watching your videos no matter what they are about but it’s nice to have someone going through the same health / mindset struggles to watch - thank you!!! I battled my weight and yo-yo dieted most of my life then 3 years ago had weight loss surgery. The emotional side of eating didnt go away but lve kept most of the weight off. I just eat keto now as its the only way l dont get out of control food cravings. Its not just how we feel about ourselves being overweight/obese, its also the effect on our joints, health and mobility, its a lot easier to recover from a fall or whatever carrying less weight. Good luck with your journey xx

Hi, Lauren, thank you for the video. I have my own obsession mode. First, it's obsession over food - my brain will think I need more food and I will sabotage myself (for the first 3 - 4 weeks or so). Second of all-obsession over "omg I can't getting more than I have to", because if I will - I will fail it all and there's no point to continue- I'm a failure. I'm 39 and really I want more health than fancy from somebody but who am I kidding- fancy too (less percentage). Another obsession-keep looking on scales..without the results on them-feel guilty and a failure again but in the same time-by the looking on the scale I'm kinda keeping myself from overeating and stuff. Anyways.. thank you for the video, you're kinda calming me out.

I was suprised when you said weight loss first time around was never about health and you did so many videos about the health and mental health benefits with that said the majority of people are not happy when they are severely overweight, there are so many negatives to carrying too much weight as I’m sure you know. Any changes you make will make a difference and maybe look back to the first time around and find what went wrong so this time you don’t just simply repeat to be back here again in a few years make it the final time . Best of luck ❤

I've followed you for a very long time now, because I relate to a lot of the struggles you've faced with food and exercise, mental health etc. This year I told myself I'm exercising because I want to. Because I want to have better movement and control of my body, I want to be able to do a pull up, go for a swim because I'm in the mood for swimming, or have a dance because I'm in the mood for it. And it has helped my mental health and relationship with exercise. But comparing myself then and now has been the hardest battle. I've stopped caring about weight loss, and even stopped telling myself for eating "bad food". Just exercising more naturally made me crave more nutritious foods. Body dysmorphia is a nightmare, especially with people using filters all over social media. I've tried finding 1 thing I like about what I see in the mirror. I always look longer when I feel good about myself that day. I've also found celebrating the tiny wins have helped a lot!! I did 1 more length in the pool, I celebrate. I did my first push up of the year, I celebrate. I added half a kilometre to this year's running PB, I celebrate. I ran without stopping, I celebrate. I drank enough water today. I celebrate. Focusing on the little wins has helped massively. Also love ice cream. My fve is mint choc chip. You wanna video about going the gym, do it. You want to video what your eating, do it. Videoing a lazy day, do it. Sit down chat mental health, do it. At the end of the day, do what makes YOU happy. Your happiness should always be your priority

Hi Lauren I very much understand and I've had a similar weight loss experience and I have a very toxic relationship with dieting and food and exercise. Now I'm trying to heal and balance myself so now I am mindful to make every exercise trip and every food choice and act of love. I'm going swimming to relax work my body make it strong. I'm having this salad because I need some greens and vitamins and sometimes a jam donut is an act of love when I've had a miserable day but 4 donuts isn't an act of love because it will make me like crap. I don't focus on size scale or clothes just consistent acts of love. As soon as I start obsessing I stop. Good luck and I love your honesty xxxxx be kind to yourself❤❤❤

Look at it this way - the more people who see your take on working out and eating whole food for health in the healthy way you're doing it, can only help them. You can contribute to the take down of toxic diet culture.

Hi Lauren. Loved the video, loved the talk at the end. It made my day but I can’t really explain why. I. Think I felt a new positivity in you about the way you look at things to do with your mental and physical health. You are a beautiful woman, inside and out.

Sounds like you are getting closer to you, landing in thoughts and how they are. An acceptance/kindness to yourself and it’s beautiful you tune in to that because being harsh and punish ourselves is basically just carrying on the abuse coming from outside that’s been internalized. You deserve to be kind to yourself, Lauren❤

You are beautiful and loved at every step in your journey! Life is a rollercoaster, and all we can do is our best - which fluctuates with the many difficult, heartbreaking and exhilarating things that we experience. Go easy on yourself. Always share whatever you want, people will appreciate authenticity and most often times relate and find comfort in it. That garden is very gorgeous and peaceful. Thank you for sharing with us 😊.

Love you! Love this! I’ve been dealing with obsession mode too, not just food, but alcohol too… is as if i’m just bored. But i’ve decided to stay calm and think of it as a health journey more than a “diet” and a journey doesn’t have to be linear to be a successful and gratifying journey. I love you so much! 😭🤍🙏

I really do hope you go on a health journey because I think it would greatly help your mental state and body. I lost weight and gained a ton back and I have horrible anxiety now. I can't seem to get motivated enough to lose it again so if u can do it that would inspire me. And I know sometimes ppl stand for something that no longer serves them and it's hard to change your stance without backlash. Like if someone is full body positivity and then want to lose weight, some ppl take issue with that. Screw those ppl. Your life, your health. And what the heck is a mooncup? Hahahaha

You motivate me so much. Especially with what you said about intentions, balance, and getting rid of rules.

Lauren some food for thought. What you fight, you make an enemy out of. If you have tendencies to obsess over your image, over going to the gym, etc. use that to your advantage. If that trait is there, make it pay. Go to the gym. Obsess. Look in the mirror. And ride all the waves that you’re afraid of riding. You lost the weight and gained it back. You have faced your fear already you have no demons hanging around you anymore. Make those ‘undesirable traits’ work to get you where you want to be. I speak from experience. That is the only way to be free.

I can appreciate what you were saying at the end of your video because I've lived it. I'm 64 & 2023 was the first time since I was 16 that I didn't"diet," cut calories, restrict foods, and over exercise. I missed out on so much life with my weight loss & exercise obsession. I now walk because I enjoy it & I eat what I want when I want it in moderation. I'm happy with my body now & I'm not "skinny." When I was "thin," I was miserable due to my constant obsession with calorie counting, food restricting & over exercising... & it was mentally exhausting. It took me my entire adult life to make that realization. All of those years were waisted, imo. I commend you for how you are approaching your new fitness journey. Sounds like you're in the right mindset. I support you and wish you well with your journey... esp if it makes you happy. 😊 I'm going to go eat some ice cream now. 🍦

I have learned to love early mornings. I make a coffee, light a candle, listen to the birds or maybe some light classical music. Sometimes I will do some stretches or light movement to wake my body up a bit, make my bed. It just feels nice now for some reason to take my time to get ready for the day. I did NOT used to be like that lololol!!!

No matter what you are doing we are all here cheering you on. For me Lipedema has knocked me around for years and I hated my body not knowing I had an actual disease. From that realisation I have learnt to go with the flow with it rather than trying to control the uncontrollable. I just try and make the best decisions I can without beating myself up if I stray.

Ice Cream! I have been watching you since the beginning, and I have been rooting for you in all things; relationships, work, weight, fitness, KZfaq, etc - , you are a truly lovely person. Losing, and then gaining weight , is such a universal theme - it resonates with so many of us. I too decided to concentrate on the issue of health in my weight loss and fitness journey - not beauty, not vanity. And also ease of living - ease of fitting into clothes, being more social because I am more inclined to say yes when i feel and look better, having more stamina. Thank you for taking us along on such a personal journey - we are all benefiting from your wisdom. And, if there are stumbles along the way, we all take comfort in each other as they are part of our lives too. XO

As a former ED struggler, expecting the results to be immediate is literally the hardest thing. I guess, a way to look at it is.. like a book. It’s a new chapter, you finished a day (maybe a hard day) of tossing back and forth “Oh I ate too much” or “oh i didn’t do that much exercise today” and when you wake up the next day, it’s a new chapter. The last chapter was crappy, but the book isn’t finished. You still have the next chapter. Every book has a bad chapter(s). And just like as the book nerd I am, (which reminds me, do you have Goodreads?) don’t judge a book by it’s cover. You ARE NOT the cover, thick, tiny, small. You’re more than the cover and if you open up the pages, there is so much more worth in it. It’s hard work, dedication, love, sadness, happiness, you are not defined by the font (food) of the book. You are defined with what’s behind the (font) food. 🍦 (edit for the forgotten ice cream 😢)

Ice cream :) loved the vlog - I do not think you are over-thinking at all. You are very aware of yourself and how you tackle things - so it is good to think about your new era - how things could go and how you don't want them to go and pre-empt any situations that might crop up keeping yourself in check. You know you best - :) My body started fully falling apart at around 44 - massive decline in everything. Body aches and pains and Peri Menopause so I am very much needing to change my lifestyle. I have always been a size 18/20 but lived quite happily with no pain. It is very VERY different now.

Hey Lauren, I look forward to watching your health and fitness journey. It will be something positive and new for you. You have grown and learnt from your experience that you won't enter those old habits again. Body-checking compulsions are hard to ignore, but if you resist them, they will fade away. Overthinking everything holds us back and stops us from moving forward. I take the approach of "I am going to the gym and see what happens", and 9 times out of 10, I do much more, and I have a great session. When we put expectations on ourselves, it becomes overwhelming, and we give up. Keep going, and everything else will pick up momentum. We are always rooting for you! Ps. Icecream!

I always say ‘do it the hard way then Jayne pffft !’ One special quality I love about you , is that you are raw and identify with so many of us on here. How many of us on here ,do you think have lost weight struggled regained etc ? How many suffer with sadness , low moods , you touch on so many reality vibes . You give us lots of topics and real content, if you want to share your new found health mindset too , then bring it on 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I’ve lost 70 pounds before now then gained it back , lost again …. gained …. Cycle of weight loss struggle and low self esteem for most of my life. I’m 55 now and I am still healing. My opinion on this video is … it’s clearly showing you are now ready for a healthy mind & body again , but this time it’s because you’re in the middle of your healing chapter. With so much more insight and knowledge .You have come so far and worked a lot on your inner self , keep shinning 🤍✨💫✨ wishing you freedom & joy always xx🦋
