*Some notes after helping a few people that were having problems.*
I've helped a few people out that were having problems with this, and by far the most common issue seems to be with print settings. This will not work if you try to use 'borderless printing' because that print setting actually enlarges the image just a bit to get it to print beyond the borders of the page. That will not work with this. The print that prints out on your paper has to be exactly the size that photoshop says it is. Measure with a ruler from reg mark to reg mark if you are unsure.
The other issue is with trying to print beyond what size your printer is able to do. The registration marks absolutely must be printed fully on the page in order for this to work. So if you are printing 8.5x11 and your printer cuts off the registration marks by half a millimetre, this is not going to work. You will either have to move your registration marks in towards the image some, or reduce the size of your print a little bit so that it all fits and prints on the page.
Finally, the paper must be trimmed flush with the registration marks. You have to have some sort of border on your mat. I use a 12x12" piece of card stock and cut a 11.5x11.5" square out of it. Eric uses tape for his. You have to have this in order to know where to place your print on the mat.
Not really an Inkscape video, though you can also set up these types of files in Inkscape.

Here I show you a method for tricking Cricut to cut a print bigger than print and cut. I’m basically using Eric M. Boyd’s technique, just modified a bit for cutting single large images out of non-standard sized media.
I show how to prepare the files for this in Photoshop, but you can also use Inkscape to do this. I might make a video of that later.
