i have an original battle of the bulge American overcoat.

Not gonna lie, every time I have my wool overcoat on or I see someone else’s with one on and they don’t have any field gear on it reminds me of Schultz from Hogans Heroes

When I got out of the US Army in 1971, I had to turn in my OD Field Jacket which was the one piece of clothing I wanted to keep. I don't know if they reissued it because they were in short supply or if they sold them on the surplus market, but it really pissed me off.

I wear original trousers and shirt in combat and they’ve never fallen apart, they are cheaper and American made.

Hi there, first off I would like to compliment the video and encourage this wonderful hobby. I am pretty new to reenacting and am doing the German 275th ID mid to late 1944 / generic German infantryman Western Front mid to late 1944. I had a question for you: Within German reenacting you will often hear how the Germans threw away their gas mask and stuff the canister with personal items. However, this appears to be a German reenacting anachronism and commonly held misconception that did not actually happen that often. In the German army Inspection of equipment was at least somewhat regular and you were expected to have your gas mask and have it maintained in working order. So my question was, do we know for sure that the G.I.s threw away their gas masks or is it possible this is another misconception that circulates throughout the reenacting community? (By the way, I am not criticizing you or acting like I know more, i am genuinely curious, especially since I am doing research on U.S. equipment and uniforms to compare and contrast them with the Germans')

I think the way they tied the scarf in images I've seen is the European loop, not sure how that was you did it.

For my reenactment gear I wear the basic us coat a wool shirt and 1951 winter pants

I am going to have to get my self a world war II uniform now I collect military uniforms

Only thing what I hate about doing 3rd armored division impression, is I have my m65 jacket on, and I put my belt on and it's tight, so I gotta adjust it, and it makes me look fat, but it's warm. 1965 Not ww2.
