YOOO that airport set at 10:56 was my CHILDHOOD! I loved playing with that one so much, alongside the Racers 8672 Ferrari Finish Line set, Indiana Jones Temple Escape, the SpongeBob sets, the City Corner bus, and 7785 Arkham Asylum! The Rhode Island State House in Providence was designed by McKim, Mead & White, who also worked on the original NY Penn Station, James A. Farley Building, Garden City campus of Adelphi, and Columbia's main campus! It features the fourth largest self-supported marble dome in the world. The Rhode Island State House is constructed of 327,000 cubic feet of white Georgia marble, 15 million bricks, and 1,309 short tons (1,169 long tons) of iron floor beams. The dome is topped by a gold-covered bronze statue known as The Independent Man, designed by George Brewster and installed in 1899. George Brewster also designed the exterior of the St. Louis Art Museum and Indianapolis's Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. The Independent Man weighs more than 500 pounds and represents freedom and independence and alludes to the independent spirit which led Roger Williams to settle and establish Providence Plantations and later the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Though worth mentioning Roger wasn't the first European to settle Rhode Island, that was William Blaxton in 1635, one year before Roger Williams. Blaxton was also the first European to settle what's now Boston in 1625. Blaxton left for what's now Rhode Island from Boston because the Anglican Blaxton did not get along with the Puritan leaders of the Boston church. Blaxton's land in Boston is now Boston Common. And the anchor on Rhode Island's flag doesn't symbolize its nautical heritage, but rather inspired by the biblical phrase "hope we have as an anchor of the soul" as Rhode Island's earliest colonists were fleeing persecution in Massachusetts due to their religious beliefs. Until 1854, Rhode Island had FIVE state capitals that rotated, Kingston, Providence, Newport, Bristol and East Greenwich! Yes, five! Providence became the sole Rhode Island capital in 1900!

The dragon at Universal Orlando's Diagon Alley was crafted by Bryn Court and his team of artists! Court is a sculptor from north London who has worked on such films as “Braveheart,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and (of course) the “Harry Potter” series. Wireframe, foam, clay, paint, and a whole lot more materials were used to make this massive dragon not only exist, but also stand up to the elements, including its own fire breath. Though everyone stares at the dragon’s head awaiting its fire blasts, its body is no less important, draping across the top of Gringotts Bank in Diagon Alley. The process for making its massive wingspan down to its talons and tail was an elaborate one. Once complete, the dragon was carefully craned and lowered into place, piece by piece. The dragon is an Ukrainian Ironbelly! Usually the dragon breathes fire every ten minutes, but it doesn't always seem to stick to a consistent schedule, and this is because the dragon is "polite", as in because the dragon breathes fire in a fairly narrow space, the park needs to be careful the wind doesn't catch and shift the fire someplace the parks wouldn't want it. Quincy Market was constructed between 1824 and 1826 and named in honor of mayor Josiah Quincy III, who organized its construction without any tax or debt. By the time Boston was incorporated as a city in 1822, downtown commercial demand had grown beyond the capacity of Faneuil Hall, which was the site of several speeches by Samuel Adams, James Otis, and others encouraging independence from the British. To provide an expansion of shop space Quincy Market was built, as an indoor pavilion of vendor stalls. It was designed by Alexander Parris, who worked on many lighthouses in the Northeast! Pizzeria Regina was founded by Luigi D'Auria in Boston's North End neighborhood, originally under the name Regina Pizza. Its original location opened in 1926 at 11 1/2 Thacher Street, making it Boston's oldest pizzeria. When Luigi D'Auria died, he left the restaurant to his grandson, also called Luigi D'Auria. In 1956, the grandson sold Regina Pizza to the Polcari family, and they have operated the restaurant since. TD Garden opened in 1995 to replace the Boston Garden that was slightly north, which opened in 1928 and demolished in 1998. As early as the 1970s, the Bruins were looking for a new arena, and almost moved to New Hampshire! The Celtics on the other hand once considered moving to Revere.

I live in Mass and love Boston Brick Co. I was just there on Sunday and I actually bought that Blimp set from Lego Adventures. It's always been one of my Holy Grail sets to own. The owner of the store is always awesome to talk with and he gave me a great deal on a handful of sets. So cool to see you visit New England and go to one of the best Lego stores on the East Coast.
