Speaking from experience here If you minmax everything to increase ATK, have recycler hat, diamond bullets, and the book familiar, guns get absolutely insane. I remember from an earlier version that you can get to 999 ATK with guns (when you couldnt master rapid fire), even the double consumption hat gets ridiculous for damage numbers, tho its not efficient

So glad you are trying this, I have been trying to make guns work in this game for so long and it’s always a struggle until you find the infinite ammo hat.

I believe Guns only truly scale off stats if you have real ammo loaded, elsewise you get near base damage as I think Infinite Ammo has an atrocious scaler rate, 0.1x STR I think, it definitely does scale, your damage does slowly go up across the run as you level up, but its bad

I don't think I ever used guns in this game until I got the recycle hat. the ammunition mechanic looked tedious. When you've got everything set up though, the damage output is ridiculous.

with regards to recycle hat in the Randomizer. It's there but it's SUPER weighted to the point where it really only ends up showing crafting/quests even somewhat reliably.. and even then, it could be gated by something stupid like needing to make it using 99 Dark matters+The Full valkyrie set, breaking down a item that needs 10+ alkahest and the shop doesn't sell alkahest AT ALL/You can't craft alkahest OR It's locked behind the other two quest givers and it's farther down thier chains. It's Basically the Chaos Ring in the Aria/Dawn Randomizers with a slightly better chance that you MIGHT get to see it.

As soon as you dismissed Gebel's Glasses I was like "wait, no! the rapid fire! it can be done with the blunderbuss!" It's a good thing I checked other comments to see if you ended up using it later in the video.

There’s a fun glitch with Ordog that happened near the end, I’ve had the same happen. You shoot him with true arrow, he gets hit, and then he lays back down and goes to sleep. Silly dog

I personally LOVED guns, and used the homing gun, either with scattershot, or some other ammo[memory sucks so remembering which one sucks] It's honestly the best gun imo, due to good damage, AND having innate homing

From what I remember, guns being usable at all hinges on that stupid infinite ammo hat, because the damage falloff is extreme. Lots of potential for a gun-mod though. Directional aiming with something like dual revolvers would be pretty neat.

I like guns. They can come in clutch with different ammo types. The low damage numbers can be deceiving. I literally killed OD with Diamond rounds like he was nothing after losing the fight 3 times normally. Just decided I was gonna hold down Healing (maxed 9/9), directional shield (9/9) with Words of wisdom at 9/9 with the skill shard and ability shard active. So even when not wearing Gebels Glasses, I have near infinite ammo with my regen rate on top of that. But popped the shield when he attacked and shot when we didn’t. I think the fight lasted 1:30. Obviously he was my last shard for the glasses, but yeah the guns are even good late game and harder difficulties once your stats are buffed from food and such. Early game, definitely trash mostly due to the lack of available ammos. Like they work, but not the best. I feel like they’re better after NG+. Also, quick tip. Find rooms with breakable lanters and they typically drop a good amount of gold. That room you went through at the castle entrance with the 4 statues drops mostly 50,100, and 500 gold per statue. Went back and forth a few tikes and already had 5k gold. Plunderers rings help too. I found with one to 2 equipped, it gives you larger quantities of gold/money way more often than not. You can also activate Welcome Party on top of the train where the cars connect, you can stand there and go back and forth and make between 7k-11k gold per ride then hop back on the other direction and do it both ways. Semi AFK gold farm. Also, focus on ATK for guns. For me, that seemed to matter with those. The numbers were almost identical stats wise and in game damage. Btw, not saying I’m 100% right, just what I noticed in my 80ish hours playing and messing around. I think their thing is if you’re going to use guns, they have their own skill ceiling and play style. To offset you being able to keep your distance they probably reduce damage to and make you focus on making each shot count. Basically lower damage, higher skill requirement.

Bullets have their own set strength unless it's infinite, in which case it gets a dramatic decrease in strength scaling from what I know. It's a way to balance it iirc

Edit 2: And never mind again; guns fell off so hard without a sustainable source of ammo. Can't believe Dimension Shif of all things killed this run though.

I've totally gotten the recycling hat in rando mode before, but it does seem to be rarer than gebil's glasses. and on a gun run I bet it wouldn't show up easily/at all cause RNG, it can be anywhere, including locked deep in the clothes/food questlines, food is hard to finish, clothes...I've tried, I've literally never managed to finish it in rando. maybe on a god seed (or if you just don't shuffle shops or alch...but where's the fun in that?) also, unless they changed this in an update, which I doubt, the shop updates twice, once AFTER the first Samurai Guy fight (forgot his name) and again once you reach the area that's past the train ride, the lab place

I will say god bless the fact that once you get the Recycler Hat for doing all of Susie's quests, which you will because it's Susie. Because that, maxed out Renee's Requiem, diamond ammo and all the attack and gun buffing stuff you can stack is mad busted. Too bad I only got that mad busted stuff uh, five rooms from the final boss. And I can't even use it for grinding souls and mats because the luck stuff is more important for that. guns do scale on str infinite ammo doesn't. infi ammo is meant as a punishment for not being good at ammo conservation. also glasses should be allowed for infinite rapid fire spam

Please strongly consider checking out the World Tour mode in Street Fighter 6 using Modern Controls. You get a character creator, genuinely loose track of time from fun playing, and covertly teaches you the mechanics of not just SF6, but all fighting games. I'm currently 40 hours into World Tour mode, which is all single player offline content. If you don't see yourself as a fighting game player, but like fighting games, I cannot recommend this approach strongly enough. Base edition is easily worth srp

Whips were such a letdown in this game. I don't know who chose to give them such a weird hitbox... Not to mention the sound effect. It's nitpicking at this point but many weapon sound effects are disappointing
