I was stressed about putting highlights in my curly hair because I didn’t wanna ruin the curl pattern and I didn’t think it would look good ! But after watching this it gave me some peace and I can’t wait !

I think she gave you partial highlights! Ask for a full head instead so you can get highlights in the back! It looks gorgeous! And if you don’t like the orange tones (virgin black has more orange/red undertones when bleached that’s why it looked copper) ask her to tone it to an ashier cool toned brown/blonde. Hope that helps!!

Same I got my hair done today and she didn’t put as much highlights as I thought she would when I showed her the picture she had way more highlights!

As a hairstylist she probably put a toner on your hair after the lightener. Toners are meant to make the hair a truer blonde but sometimes they can make the hair darker by accident. Toners do wash out after a couple months, so that is probably what it was!

its because you straightened it. it burned the toner they put in which was probably a warm color. thats the reason its more blonde right now

Hi faith! I too got a similar color and as you can see in my profile picture it turned copperish too!!! I was like crap...well now I'm growing it out and won't color it again 🥲 you'll be fine! Don't worry! 💙 go back and you should be great!

You need full highlights if u want it every where .. looks pretty tho

The inconsistency makes your highlights look more natural..like the sun kissed it .I know what you mean about area of head missing highlights though.To prevent this, and to get a more uniformed color throughout the strand, I always straighten my hair before a salon visit.The curls can make the color uneven, use more product(costing more), and cause cut to take longer.Trust me, straighten it..or at least blow it out.

Well she should have straightened your hair first before making the highlights so the work is more precise and the highlights are well spread, we don't do highlights directly on curly hair period! 🤦‍♀️

That's not really necessary for curly hair. In fact, it's not at all ideal seeing as we wear our hair curly most of the time and you want to see how the color will look on the curls during the process. Curl specialists use the pintura method (curl by curl) when highlighting curly hair.

As a former stylist and someone with long natural hair, I have to agree. The individual curl method can be used, however to ensure consistency throughout the strand, all over symmetry, and correct color...I straighten my hair before...and when I was in the industry..my clients were somewhat blown out too. The swatches are on straight hair that was white before being colored. Im a bit of a perfectionist when dealing with color. Both ways are acceptable as long a damage is minimal and conditioning is maxed.To each their own.Her hair is beautiful.

You guys are so dramatic . Your hair looks great as a stylist consulting is key ! I can’t stress this enough make sure you covey properly on what you want your her to look like . Show images of inspiration . Also it’s curly hair the highlights should not be consistent (duh) curls aren’t consistent it looks natural and you can always add more highlights later which is way safer this also gives you time to adjust to the difference. Also lighting plays a big part on tone your hair is pretty dark so naturally it will pull warmth . Hopefully you went back and stressed your concerns without the tears. Your more than your hair crying is not allowed your grown . Remember color is ALWAYS FIXABLE.
