After the Burial does it better though. ATB grooves like no other. I'd much rather listen to literally any ATB album than this Wage War album. It's not a good sign if the best track on the album sounds like a different band entirely.

Ever since I opened Wage War, I'm a huge fan. I can agree that they sound pretty typical for metalcore but for me they've mastered it. I really like the blend of calm and banger songs every album. Experiments are good, but some times you need some good old metalcore, that where Wage War perfectly fits in for me.

I remember reading on Reddit or Twitter that Wage War sticks to the "metalcore formula" because they make it work and they're good with it and I believe this record proves that. I really enjoyed it, though I agree some songs sound really similar but when you take it for what it is, it's a fun metalcore album.

Honestly, I love the album. Not one song i do not like but i am more into the generic feel. One thing i will say though is that i generally do not listen to songs that only have screams. I usually like the poppy cleans and so on but Death roll i just cannot stop listening to. There is just something about that song that gets me going. Along with High Horse. But for me, well done Wage War. It is generic but i am into that very much like Memphis May Fire. Very generic and very predictable but... bands like wage war and MMF are the best at this type of generic sound in my opinion so i will gladly accept and play on repeat. I respect your opinion though. I think most of your viewers will and should accept that this is just not your thing so keep doing what you do. It is great content.

I definitely agree with your review. Death Roll was by far my favorite. And it’s not the fact it’s heavy, but it just feels so much more metal than the others. I’m personally not a fan of the forced-in poppy choruses with the simple cookie-cutter structures. Just looking at the lengths of the songs tells you about all you need to know, unfortunately.

I personally like the album very much. Why? I think the band just continued to develop the last album "Pressure", although I think this album is even harder than Pressure. The album has really cool neck breakers Death Roll, High Horse and also very good metal ballads like Slow Burn and Never Say Goodbye, which still have good break downs. But honestly, what do you expect from Wage War? Great breakdowns, beautiful melodies and songs that jump and pop in your face. And that's exactly what this album has. We clearly have a further development of the band from the last album, which I personally found very awesome. What also fascinates me about this band is that the two singers complement each other perfectly and just do a great job. You can still find comparable cool things at Bury Tomorrow. I would therefore like to hold up the flag for this album and just tell you that the album is great fun and that you can access it without hesitation. Greetings from Germany.

At a certain point, you have to know that these guys write music that has a pretty predictable structure and take it for what it’s worth. That’s their style and they are damn consistent about it. I also feel that Wage has been in the game longer, in terms of what people deem as the flagships of metalcore. By no means am i undermining the success of either band. Though it is Spiritbox’s first album, one that got a lot coverage and a lot of people like. Doesn’t happen often. I feel Manic is not as bland metalcore as some are saying. You can see where they want to diverge in terms of production and even some song writing. I don’t feel like it was quite enough to impress people. Wage has done most of this before, and I feel like that’s why people are deeming it “bland.” My literal biggest criticism on the entire album is just the choruses. Not that they’re objectively badly written, but they cookie-cutter them so much. High Horse, Manic, and Death Roll step away from those choruses and you see most often those are the highlights for people. Just an interesting point in my eyes

I think you have a very valid point. They used to be so cutting edge at the time of Blueprints and them being fresh really helped them. But them putting out the exact same record four times is kinda old. And don't get me wrong, I love every single song they've put out. There's not one miss. But when it all sounds so similar all the time for 5 or so years it gets kinda repetitive. I feel like they'll really start to fall off if they don't bring something new and great and innovative with their next record. *Don't get this mixed up cause Wage War is literally like Top 3 bands of all time for me and I've been a fan since literally the day Blueprints came out and I saw them on Warped in 16 so there is absolutely no hate in this comment*

I actually really enjoy this album. I take it for what it is, a modern metalcore album. For me its like a cool blend of the old and new era of this band. Death roll S.L.A.P.S tho. But my mannnn, pleasssseeeeee do an album reaction of Das Album from wbtbwb!! This one is insaneeeeee start to finish.

I've had this album on repeat and not one song gets skipped. Wage war are masters at what they do. Every song brings out a stink face and a chorus you can belt out. If I was to build the perfect band, it wouldn't be far from wage war

It's pressure 2.0 but way better imo. It still has the radio rock influences but their also not holding back on the screams and breakdowns. Deadweight is still their best album but this is up there.

I fully understand that there are people who like the heavier songs rather than melodic and lyrical rock songs even if there are heavy metal guitar riffs and breakdowns within them. But I also believe that it adds a level of comfortability for people who aren’t as experienced in a rock genre. It’s not that bands are getting softer it’s just that bands are trying to appeal to a much bigger Audience like they should. Look I live in Chicago and I haven’t met a single person who listens to this kind of music. It’s a dying genre atleast in my eyes so if a major change like melody needs to be introduced then why not. I think this album was a huge fucking success through and through. I’ve personally experienced this album seem somewhat of substance to people who Mainly listens to rap or edm
