To my understanding only steel core is not allowed by rules. Is there practical performance issue with steel case?

Hello have a question about stimpling competition gun I shoot limited 10 and a glock 35 any rules that I maybe missing here . I believe I can do the grip as long as I stay below the thumb rest I believe? There are no videos on this subject are you aware of any that I may have missed? Thanks.
