My time in Crete has almost come to an end. I have had a wonderful time in this beautiful part of Greece, and gotten to practice some Greek with the locals. This has been the start of my period of engagement in Greek, and I'm motivated and excited to speak more.

Στιβ καλωσήρθες Ελλάδα !! Καλή επιλογή για εκδρομή τα Χανιά στην Κρήτη !! Οι Μινωίτες είναι απ'τους πιο αρχαίους πολιτισμούς. Steve welcome to Greece. Nice vacation choice of Chania in Crete. Minoans there are one of the most ancient civilizations, they started inhabiting that place 4600 years ago.

Greece is awesome. I too am early in my journey of learning to speak Greek (9 months so far) but looking forward to the next time I can return to deepen my conversation skills on this language.

It looks beautiful there. I think I would feel more motivated to continue to learn after visiting the country of the language I’m learning. ¡Le deseo el mejor!

Tusen takk for alle videoene du legger ut, det er stor inspirasjon og motivasjon i min videre ferd i å lære vietnamesisk

Steve, I would like to ask you a question. I sometimes have trouble finding good and interesting audiobooks for my more advanced languages to load into lingq. I really love Lingq and I use it everyday. I would like some websites and some advice to know how a book is worth buying or not. I also really appreciate the app. Everyone that I show lingq to thinks that you are a genius. I also agree that you're a genius. Its so convenient to be able to click on a word and it gives you the definition automatically. I could never learn languages this fast without Lingq.

You just have to look on your own for things to import into LingQ, as I have done.

What resources did you use to Hangul and Korean. And should I study informal and formal language? Thanks!
@milanpaudel9624

you need to learn Formal and informal both, After a while you will notice common pattern of Informal and formal languages, so it doesn't matter which one you learn. When I was learning Korean, I learned everything, like everything.

Try LingQ for Korean and ask on our Forum. I don't worry about formality levels. With enough exposure it becomes clearer and clearer. Trust your instincts.

The main difficulty with Greek is not the grammar even though it is quite tedious, the main issue is the vocabulary. Most people learning Greek face the same issue , it takes a long time to memorize these Greek words. Greek is a unique language that has no similarities with other languages . I am fluent in 6 languages and Greek is my current challenge. I live in Israel so I guess I will be able to practice in Cyprus pretty easily as it is a 50 minute flight.

How much you usually study greek a day?
@Neueregel
@Neueregel 6 жыл бұрын
Hi from Greece. The correct grammar in your comment is "How much Greek do you study daily?". In Greek, that can be said in fewer words: " Πόσα Ελληνικά διαβάζεις ημερησίως ; "

At home it was about an hour to an hour and a half a day. Now that I’m in Greek travelling with my wife and friends it’s difficult to get that much in. But I guess I still do read about an hour today

Why do gringos insist on equiparating Portuguese and Spanish as if they really were the same thing or as if our beautiful Portuguese language were a mere dialect of Spanish? Do these people even realise how offensive that is? Our language has history and identity and it is part of our culture no matter if you're in Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde or anywhere else. Portuguese is related to Spanish but it's VERY different, of course you can't use Spanish in a Lusophone country. lol
