My wife and I started dating when we were 14. Got married when we were 24, and we've been married ever since - 22 years and still going strong!

Very similar to me. I was 14 (almost 15) when I started dating my husband. I'm 43 now and we're still together.

I got married at 22, husband was 23. We had our first baby 3 years later. Now I’m 31, expecting baby #4. Life was good before children, but amazing after. And each child just brings more love and excitement into our family. I actually would’ve started having kids even earlier than we did! God bless and trust him in your decisions 💓

Hubby and I were married at 22 and 23. We met in college and dated 3.5 years. He graduated a year before me so we were apart for a year. That was the hardest thing. I think it was just a natural progression for us to get married. We got married within 6 months of getting engaged. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary a few days ago. I don’t think I could’ve even thought of what our lives had in store for us. It felt like we grew together as adults. We had our first son just under the 3 year mark. I do sometimes wish we waited I little longer but then we wouldn’t have the boys we have.

I was 21 when I got married, and here I am 41, and still married! Seems like every 7ish years, it gets rough, then mellows back out! Marriage is so circumstantial as far as age! It’s a lot of give and take no matter the age! Now, as far as kids…mine are 20 and almost 17, and I can’t imagine doing this in my 50s-60s! This age they are at now put you through a lot! I wouldn’t change it at all how we did everything!!

In my marriage I'm the saver / financially responsible one and my husband is the spender / financially reckless one. I definitely suggest having a joint account for the shared expenses (mortgage, utilities, groceries, vehicle expenses, repairs, etc.) and then also each having your own accounts for fun money. Treating yourself to whatever would come out of those accounts. Doing that has majorly cut down on financial stress and arguments.

It's so interesting how local culture & customs can change your perception. I'm mid-30's (in Ireland) & this age is much more common to get married/have kids. Also people regularly are engaged for around 2 years before they marry (big weddings are also typical here :-)

YES to waiting a little to have kids. Kids are great but are very hard as well. I had to wait a year longer to have kids than I wanted. Now, I'm so grateful for that year! My husband and I travelled and had so much fun together. Kids not only change things but they change things forever. And they don't get easier. The problems change but the difficulty doesn't.

I’m a young married. We met at the end of his senior year of H.S. and I still had a year left. We dated 2 years and then got engaged when I was 1 month shy of 19. When we got married I was 20 years and 3 months and he was 21. Then I got pregnant 7 months later. We were on a 5 year plan, but God had other plans. We are now celebrating our 20th anniversary next Wed and our son is 18. Out of the 3 couples in our friend group that got married around the same time we did, we are the only ones still together. We both had a personal relationship with God and I believe that had something to do with it. Now we are an exception and I don’t believe this works for everyone.

Before you guys answer to the questions, can you countdown and say, “1, 2, 3” and then answer? I think it will build up tension and make it into a game. I appreciate your videos and you sharing your experiences.

I have to admit, it is really really hard to see farther into future (like beyond 5 years or even beyond 2 years). Yet, the long run is really important in a marriage. It’s a lot to think about. However, I personally gave up on chances in college because I did not want to hurt myself too far in the long run but I ABSOLUTELY REGRET not trying to pursue something in college.

I got married at 27. Not for lack of trying to find someone but I also really enjoyed traveling and being single until I met the one. 4 years later and I’m still on the fence about having kids 😂

I assume people get married young because they're virgins and are ready to do it. That's why it's more common in religious states.

Strange how you did not mention pregnancy as reason for getting married young. Definitely a cultural thing, in Europe usually you will see young people getting married when the girl gets pregnant and they don't want to get an abortion.
@peoplethesedaysberetarded

Not a cultural thing; this is a moral-human-being thing. You don’t want a child to enter the world with parents who think marriage a larger commitment than a child.

God she is hard to listen to. I am 28 . I am a woman. I never thought about marriage and I never wanted kids. Obviously everyone can have their own path and thats great that they know theirs. However, I hate when she says " every woman " this and "every woman " that. Please stop generalizing women like that. It is ignorant .

Like when Mykayla said getting married in their 30's is late for Jonas's parents, they probably hadn't met the right person till then, it's better to get married "later" than marry the wrong person young.

Love you Mykayla but you seem really naive when it comes to money. Didn't the pandemic teach you anything? Money is not always going to be constant. Jonas has a great job now, but it doesn't mean he always will. You don't need new clothes every week. I saw you with the Louie V bags on tours and was in complete freight. Those are ridiculously priced. No one needs them. There are all kinds of articles about putting away so much money every paycheck so you can have millions when you retire (starting young) and I WISH, someone had even talked about retirement when I was your age. (I'm old) I am never going to be able to retire. It's just not plausible, so please, I just want you to be smart with money. It seems like you have a lot now, but the world is not always this easy. Think about that:)

@@ainelawlor5755 No. I won't. Do you know how many women are left with nothing after 40 years of marriage because of a divorce? The husband finds a younger woman and steals all the money. Mykayla needs to learn to keep track of money. She earns it. I am not saying Jonas will do that but it happens all the time so no, I won't leave her alone. Every woman needs a nest egg and you're an idiot.
