Devon I noticed you didn’t add the NLS to start with, however you have the Rchannel set up but never gave us a explanation what exactly it was used for. I’ve been playing around with adding the Rchannel earlier myself. Any gems you’ve uncovered?

Hey Devvon, love your channel and the work you're putting in. Really helped me up my mixing game over the last couple years. One small recommendation I have for you is when I purchased your Travis Scott vocal chain, the effects did not load properly. I own all of the plugins you use except the Saturn 2 and when I opened it, I got a bunch of fruity wrappers in my FL. I think it'd be a good idea to include a video explaining the verb and delay processing on your vocal chains as it wouldn't of been a big deal for maybe some others like me who have the same problem to apply your settings manually. thanks for everything and keep making great content!

If the singers voice is great and in a healthy frequency range, and the mix engineer knows his stuff...a great vocal & song can be recorded using any cheap microphone in any room/space. When you find a vocalist that manages to sound fantastic on any cheapo mic you put in front of them....keep working with them. They're not easy to find or replace.

Your serial compression was perfect!! Also an extremely good point in adding the late eq (high pass) to get rid of the low end that had accumulated through the chain... Q: Do you ever find yourself using a C6 vs the C4? Q: Also, I see you're using Auto Tune Pro quite a bit; do you use Melodyne much? Seriously great stuff. Instant subscriber here. Devvon can you give just a little more time in Bypass ON/off to allow for transition. My anticipation of the bypass is on visual only whilst the internet playback delay effect my Perception of what I am hearing "with" vs "without". Hope that made sense. #Salute

A bit more lo cut and you could have it. More tweaking on the delay settings. An even cheaper mic that would come closer is an MXL v67i with the bright capsule with lo cut filter enabled. Maybe even a small diaphragm condenser. Your recording has more low mids. Maybe even record the song tuned 2 half steps down then raise the pitch back up after recording including the vocal track. Because I think I hear a bit of that in there.

1176 fast or slow attack? I love the way I heard it explained in one tutorial here on YT. Think about it the way you push on your gas pedals in the car. The more you push on them (higher number on the counter) the faster the car goes (faster attack or release), and vice-versa. I hope it helps.

Cause the way I like to mix is by going with the flow and also not every eq is made equal if you know what I mean

Run your bus full of effects through another empty channel before sending out that second channel to the master channel. Hope this makes sense haha
