That's a simple setting - GP in GoPro colour mode looks pretty much the same. Bobo has his GP in Flat colour mode, which is easier to colour grade later.

Yup i went otb on a chute into some gnarly rocks and i got a bunch of staples in my shin.I was off the bike for 2 weeks and my first ride back on sucked hahah

Dammmn, Bobo is growing up! You made the right choice. Any trouble with overheating and do you have an estimate as to how much longer the batteries last compared to the 11? Last question did you use the nd filters? The contrast looked better on the dji imo. Youd'a man Bobo. Thanks for making my day better.

Lol, yup, as a wiser man than me once said “you got to know when to hold’em, know when to fold’em.” And I never got a chance to try the ND filters, the lighting was not great and hasn’t been great since I’ve got the camera lol. And there have been zero overheating issues, the batteries last about 30 or 40 minutes longer depending on the settings and yeah, I really like the DJI!

Makes me sad that the DJI is pixellating bad right at the beginning of the ride when you announce who has what camera. The DJI comes with more stuff and it is useful stuff. Can't accessorize your way out of bad image processing though.

The DJI has some weird jitter jerky type video that makes it look not at as smooth. I'm not sure what it is but there is a certain quality of jitter to it.

Good call to not ride that drop even though they opened it. If you're not feeling it, doing it anyway may cause the worst crash of your life. Gotta feel right, otherwise walk away.

All the videos I've watched it seems like the stabilization of the DJI just isn't quite what it is on the GoPro. That could just be from a creators standpoint. It does seem like a better package if you are an average user though.

Since I'm home recovering from a dislocated/fractured shoulder I have to ask. How is your shoulder holding up? Are you back to 100% or does it still bother you? After watching you taste it on that drop, I cringed thinking of a shoulder injury. Love your videos and glad you are able to still rip it.

Actually, the shoulder is stronger than ever! After my surgery, I started rock climbing and working out four days a week and got super strong! But unfortunately, I developed tennis elbow in my left arm and haven’t been able to work out or rock climb for the last six months. I’ve put on a lot of weight and it is depressing, but almost recovered from the tennis elbow, can’t wait to start working out again!

Great video! I saw the crash on the other video, that ground is unforgiving! I like using my GoPro Hero Black 7, I recently purchased the Hero Black 11. However DJI makes some kick ass products.

Coming off the worst crash of my life with broken bones and barely being able to walk for two months, it took 200+km of trail to get the mojo back. Speaking of sciencey shit, now you've got to science the shit out of 4k and the resolution of the eyeball 🤯

Good timing on this edit Bobo. I'm in the market for a new camera and to be honest I'm sick of my GoPro freezing up, all the excuses/fixes from customer service. Not once did they offer to replace it, just all these "fixes" that cost me money. Might have to check out the DJI. BTW, You'll get that drop next time!! 👍🏼

Hey Bobo, have you considered that they don't open the drop that often now to avoid Joeys like yourself to keep getting hurt down it? It came to me since you showed they did opened it right when youwere ready to leave the place. L.O.L. Keep it up man !! And good call on following the advice from the dad guy. And recovering from a broken wrist (radius and ulna) myself.

Nice! I think the Action 3 is pretty even with the GoPro 11 with the 11 edging out in ultimate quality, but the Action 3 is cheaper, hard to overheat and easier to use. But now the Action 4 looks better image quality than the GoPro 11. If I didn't have the Action 3 already id grab the 4 in a heartbeat! Good move on not going back to the drop, just do as many other drops as you can before hitting that big bastard again.

should ask what stiffness of suspension or tyre pressures are between the bikes 1 has go pro 1 has dji4 so if 1 has a harder suspension or tyre pressures it will jar more in the image

Was the gopro attached to the DJI chest mount ? Perhaps the slightly less stabilization of DJI is caused by its mount ? Man, you had a calling from you guardian angel... This day was not the day to drop it... But it will come, just straight your confidence up and send it ! Cheers !

I am colorblind, so take this how you want it. The DJI is noticeably warmer with better contrast to my eye. I like it better than the GoPro footage. I can make out more detail

Go pro has more soft light. Where the Dji is darker. If they give you filters they know something is not right with iso. On any camera. ISO I’m a go pro user to the max. And I’m not sponsored Dji gives you a lot to win you over. I like the touch screen on the front but in a crash what glass is left on the Dji.

I don't know how you edited it, but the action between cameras looks pretty similar to me. The biggest difference appears to be color and saturation.

My hero 8 black is still doing what I need it to do and I have not got a more recent model since they sound buggy and don't really do anything better in my usage. 5.3 is a waste imho unless you are going to crop in a lot I got to do my first eMTB race over the weekend - it was all XC trail with a lot of sections that had root balls and chunky rock gardens. Race actually started almost an hour early to try and beat an incoming storm, which on the last lap turned the course to one big snotty death pit. I slowed way down to survival mode to get out of the woods. Bike was awesome! Grip in conditions I would never ride in on purpose was unreal. Coler Roller enduro next weekend!

Despite the colour differences, the GP has better image stabilization. DJI appears jumpy/choppy in the rough stuff while the GP is much smoother. The one area where both suck is dynamic range - it's my biggest beef with all action cams. Highlights are always clipped badly. I underexpose by 2/3 to 1 stop then boost the shadows in post - as long as the ISO isn't too high.

Lol, yeah… I actually did the damn thing several times on my regular bike, but you really gotta throw in some hard pedal strokes to make it work. A lot of people were giving me advice that the E bike is the way to go, gets up to speed quick and you don’t have to worry so much about the ledge. 🤘

@3:50 I don't care one way or another if you ride and eBike or a traditional bike, I do wonder how the added weight of the bike contributes to trail degradation. I own an electric car and a gas car, the eCar tire wear is double what the gas car gets. I think it's all that force that gets transferred to the surface so if I were a trail builder I'd hate eBikes. As an adult eBikes get people out on trails, great! But also as an adult, every teenager has an eBike and they ride around in little gangs. Stupid shit I know but, I have to admit when I see them eat shit going 20 mph trying to pop manuals only to loop out I can't help but laugh and pull out my phone and point and laugh. You have to learn the basics before you ad speed into the mix, but hey it makes me laugh so screw it.

Actually I believe either pink bike or single tracks.com did an article about that and found e-bikes didn’t destroy the trails any worse than regular bikes. I could be wrong but definitely read it somewhere

It appears the image stabilization and low light contrast/saturation can't compete with the GoPro. Other than that, the DJI seems to be a pretty sweet kit. Nice to see you back rippin' it up 😎

I think the GoPro has better stabilization and I prefer the taller sensor for cross media posting. The stabilization on the GP Hero is clearly a winner in these videos, there are a lot of moments on the DJI where it's blurry on a harsh landing. Also, I've never had an issue with my Hero 11 overheating. Even in the summer mountain biking up on Mt. Bachelor. I don't typically record clips longer than 12 minutes, and it never sits still when it's recording. I have had issues where it's too cold to run during some stormy snowboarding days at Mt. Hood, but that would happen with any device that's out in the wind in below zero temps on the chairlift. The GoPro does best in natural mode vs flat, because it uses tone mapping to help stay away from blown out highlights.
