Getting my new wheelchair! This is bittersweet getting a new wheelchair. We love this wheelchair so much but Dallas has had this wheelchair since she was three years old and it's time for a new one. Getting a new wheelchair is a process, but we are excited to begin.

oooh and with lights 🤩 I like that Dallas thought about how the lights would be useful if she gets lost, it shows that she has thought about that scenario while in the dark and it makes her happy to have a solution at hand! Cheers to independence! 🥰

I’m so excited for you Dallas! I get my new wheelchair next month & even at 31 it’s just as exciting 😊 Can’t wait to see yours! The colours will be so beautiful

Yes, gotta keep the plastic parts with the stickers! Any talk about the ilevel function? I've got some stickers that I've been waiting on her getting a new chair; I'll send them soon.

Where do you live? Does Dallas qualify for financial help with equipment & therapies surgeries etc? Live in Northern CA My son & I both have Cerebral palsy we both qualify for services from regional centers which were created to provide services &equipment at home rather than in an institution, they were created by the Lanterman Act in 1968. I follow many different people with CP as well as other disabilities & I’m curious how other states' programs work. I am 62 years old & didn’t become aware of regional Center services until after I was in my 30s as a child my needs were covered by CCS & by my parent's insurance, then by Medi-Cal Now, the regional Center pays what my husband’s work insurance or Medicare does not cover they also provided personal assistant & other support so that people have the supports they need to live on their own or with family or various other living arrangements.

There are different programs here in IL but I do know CA is one of those states that offers more financial support for people with disabilities and their families. We don’t have a lot of programs CA offers here in IL. I’m happy you have access to this🥰 It’s very helpful! We do have a few non profits though that have been such a huge help!!!
