I adore the girls at the nail place I go to and some people are not very nice to them because they speak Korean and not much English. I started learning a little bit of Korean so I can say hi, ask how their families are, and carry a simple conversation with them. They were shocked. Love being able to learn about someone’s culture and always makes my heart happy to see how much they love sharing it as well!

This happens to me every time I visit my family in Taiwan. Ppl stare and then say how good my Chinese is, I tell them Mandarin is my first language and my father and brothers are Taiwanese, they alway assume Im the daughter in law. Its really fun when my late husband who was Korean was there and we would switch between Korean and Mandarin or just talking between family speak in my mothers language which is InInuktitut because she was an Artic Eskimo.

I speak English, Korean, and Chinese. I get THAT look at most restaurants. It's funny to see people faces when my friends are with me. YoungJae is Korean, and CK is Chinese. We usually talk in whichever language we choose. Especially if we use English slang.😅
