In todays video I fix a leaking soil pipe, repair a Worcester boiler and show you what was up with "that" electric boiler that caused me all the issues in a previous episode

It was a joke, I did mess about with it for ages, with just the hot water on the pump normally has enough to push the air out but this would not go, thanks for watching as always mate

Don't you just love these joiners who just nail gun battens to plaster board walls, and nail boxing in in place that fall apart when us plumbers come along to dismantle their work searching for causes of leaks.😜😜😂.I would of used a bandseal on the left of that 4".

Hi Tom great job as always, been watching for a while now and you are far the most best plumbing channel, i like your passion for the trade,i myself was in the trade from 1980 until the 2000s,and i also like your solder over press fit,watching you takes me back to the jobs i use to come across like going back in time keep it going my friend .

On the contract they tried to make me sign it stated they are not responsible for any third party losses, it's completely unfair, I was just pleased to get the job sorted for the customer, thanks for the support as always John

Heatrea sadia all the way for electric boilers, the design of that boiler was asking for trouble without a AAV inside at high level . You live and learn in this trade, Like shower pumps will not even entertain anything but Stuart turner now, I have only just started watching other plumbers/ gas engineers videos. Thought I only got the shit jobs!! Great work Tom. 👍🍻

Hi Tom, another great film there thank you. That electric boiler appears to be a nightmare. I don’t remember ever working on one of them, I think I will avoid them now. hi Tom . i was watching the boiler job problem . and i was thinking if youd jammed open the diverters u know on the notch and switched the pump round . and run the pump full on .on a lead . that might have highlighted the problem earlier mate . but i know non return valves if they were in ther would have been a prob. and if i found the paddle sw would reverse i think that i would ave tried that . . its a thing i used do the get a stubbern a lock out of a coil or pipe wrk . lol worked more often than not though .and she might just have run . and gave u hope mate . any keep on jubbin matey....

There was a setting to make the pump run all the time, it wasn't in the instructions but I found if you held the reset down it flashed up PO11, I guess this was sort of a purge mode, the pump just ran then but as soon as it left this mode it went to a fault, I was pulling my hair out with it

Hi Tom, Polypipe do a slip in their above ground I'm sure its an SH45. My local city stocks them. Used to be able to knock the lugs out before they put the band style in them 😢

I thought you could still get them but my local supplier can't get hold of them, like you say the older sort with just the lugs would just tap out to make a slip, thanks for watching 👍

Great jobs , looked like a terrain boss with maybe a ring seal one side for expansion on the 4” ? If it was I find the terrain seals push out of place quite easily if there not treated like a baby ! I’m new to your channel- your videos are really good to watch - keeping it real mate 👍🏻

I'd bet that the paddle switch was fitted wrong way round at manufacture. Well sussed though. Take it all back, just watched until the end 😊

That's what technical are there for .see they where there usual helpful self .useless. can't believe it was something so silly stopping it working .😯😯. I guess it would be more electrical regs than plumbing, the installation would still have to comply with part L which is energy consumption, so trvs, thermostats and zone valves as well as pipe lagging, the cylinder comes under G3 as its unvented, I'm not sure on the electrical regs, I just get a qualified electrician in to sort that. why don't the front of boilers open like a door rather than fold down so if you get a leek on heat exchanger or any thing else it can leek on the electrics of the fold down panel also the pressure vessel behind heat exchanger above electrics flap and pump act .vessel should be at the front in front of heat exchanger fan box on a simple hinge and just covered by top casing cover. ?

That short boss pipe was leaking on the O ring adaptor, probably the O ring was displaced when it was pushed onto the pipe . Clearly it was nt pressure tested . The electric boiler with no AAV bottle is poor design , it's always going to airlock , the pump would have been ok on the flow if it wasn't air locked. It's annoying when you have to fix other people's mistakes.

The position of the coupling made no odds . Once it was on the white pipe you slid it down all the way so it was out of the way .

@@riptiz I fail to see your logic . The size of the gap between the existing pipe and the new piece is the same regardless of where the slip coupling is positioned initially before its slid into its final position.

The boiler people should increase the delay time on the pressure switch , in addition should come with a manual vent. What a crock of shit you’re dealing with, feel your pain my friend. What is the electric boiler manufacture brand ,

Thanks for the support mate, like you say if the delay was longer you would get a fighting chance, there should have also been air tap on the top, I would have thought this is a pretty major design flaw, the boiler was a Strom

Good evening Tom , nice bit of work they soil pipe .was jigging around with mine at the weekend as everything is located around the solar pipe and cold water runs and the toilet cold water feed as the handbasin waste wouldn’t pass one of the cold water pipes so I had a bit of fun with that myself just been to Screwfix to get a little extension for the back to wall toilet, Jack is turning into a plumber is he Harry replacement 👍👍👍👍

Thanks for the support as always mate, it was one of them jobs that proper got to me, I should have figured out what was going on a lot sooner than I did. The manufacture were less than helpful though and in theory had done everything correctly. I will certainly will look for a different brand to fit in the future
