about the whole shout out thing, there was a point in time where i was thinking about making a long talking video about why shoutouts usually don't happen and why you don't necessarily want one, just to maybe educate a small percentage of the masses on a bit of the complexity behind shoutouts in general from the perspective of creators. I've always found stark differences in thought processes as a result of being in a different position really fascinating.

Nigel plug your merch more. I've been following you for years and didn't even know you had merch. It doesn't detract from your content. We understand that these things help KZfaqrs make a living so it's like supporting a local small business. Plus, there's a benefit for the consumer. I hate to say it (bc it's kind of cringe) but these things serve as an easy conversation starter. Nothing is easier to comment on than "oh, you like x thing emblazoned on your chest? me too!". There's value for the content creator and the consumer there. I think plugging it at the end of the video near patreon would be fine. "These people support me, but here's another way to support me, etc."

Commenting on others videos is the number one best way to get discovered. Otherwise Google hides you from people who don't know about you. YT never shows me anything but my subscriptions page or propaganda. If I'm not subbed to CBC I see zero CBC content. the number one way I have found people I'm pissed I haven't been subbed to for years is when they comment on other peoples interesting videos. Not with spam but genuine comments.

it is really funny to listen to them discussing how fat is taken out from the milk, which I also just learnt from my food science course. (FYI the factories centrifuge the raw milk to separate it into cream and skim milk, then recombine it to get various milk products. this is a way to ensure the fat ratio is standardized cuz in raw milk that may vary due to season, animal feeds, breed etc) Anyway thanks for bringing so much joy to us! 😆

The way you described developing a video idea reminded me of the process of wording on a dissertation. You choose a research lab or a general topic for videos and then after you’re in the research lab then you have to stay within the realm of what that lab studies. But you have to come up with some common ground between what is needed in the field what do you want to do and what falls under the subjects studied by the research lab. Then you gotta do it. You all deserve so much more respect by popular society than you are given. Drs of KZfaqring.

Yeah everyone is really cliquey in society and it's hard to make any sense of it. hahahahah even for people who are autistic. my little brother deals with autism and I've seen his struggles and I totally relate to you. idk how bad yours is but with my brother I told him to honestly don't feel bad about it and just do what you wanna do man. It's nice having someone around but honestly, if you can, go do something independent like golfing or fishing. hahahahaha you don't need anyone for that and it'll help with your physical ability and if you really get into it, there's plenty of other golfers on the course and fisherman at the lake or river to talk with and develop whatever you need to. Golf specifically helped my brother find his nitch in life, it might work out for you too. Just do something fun. Life isn't about feeling weird. it's about having fun. Go have fun and just be happy. I always told my brother this, "wanna know why the kids with down syndrome in your class are always happy?" they dgaf. start not giving a frick and just enjoy your life.

I personally would prefer a little more of an intro like someone being like "Yo, I like your content. Though now I have a question about blah blah blah. And then asking the question. But I think that's just a personal preference perhaps. However asking for permission to ask the question feels like an unnecessary nicity that actually comes off as being a bit rude because it's kind of wasting their time. It's almost like you get one question and if your question is can I ask you a question then your answer is no but if your question is you know an actual question you might get an answer and possibly even start a conversation about the subject.
