I know right? The full game has released, and Larian submitted a stats sheet on funny things the players have done/gone through. Apparently, over 100,000 players were rejected by Astarion, and I'm like "The fuck did ya'll do????" X,D

You can be a really good boy if you're just silly enough. Like, yes Astarion I will let the bdsm man in the Goblin camp hit me but no I won't let that tiefling get bit by the snake. I've just started act 3, I'm still the goodest boy, and his affection for me is fluctuating from almost at the top to being completely maxed out. He loves me, he does call me out on being a good guy tho but he doesn't mind lol

This happened to me too even though my approval rating was good, and I even used a guide on how to raise his approval (I'm a shameless cheater and savescummer lmao). Asking him outright didn't work for me either, but apparently if you respond with "Knowing you, it probably is", HE ends up asking Tav instead. At least he did for me, anyway. I think that might be the secret here lmao

Yeah same. I picked another choice and suddenly i was not repulsive anymore and he proposed to me that we should get to know eachother. I was beyond shocked! Coz the others choices werent that bad ! 😅

@@RenaissanceMotoko972 lmao I agree the other responses were pretty chill, and the way he responds with disgust just makes it that much funnier! I won't spoil anything but I think with the way his backstory is, he might prefer to initiate intimate contact. Not sure if that's what the writer's are insinuating in this set of dialogue, but with how detailed the game is, I wouldn't put it past them lol

Should have given him that book... (He rejected me once too. I damn near started to cry but gritted my teeth, went back a few days on a prior save, and farmed for more approval with him. Sure had to murder the goblins and their leader's all over again but it was worth it!)

The trick I do is I always do everything he approves of, opening the barn, letting Lae'zel torture the teafling, letting that strange guy hurt me in the goblin camp, and then the best way to top it off is killing the Gur. This is always what I do because he's the only man I romance lmao

First Tav got "by the Hells, sex! But not with you," but thankfully I wasnt romancing him at the time, I was going for Halsin- but then Gale came in with Teacher and I had a BG3 identity crisis involving around half a dozen Tavs. I decided for my Tiefling I want it to be Astarion because his "poem" and since I've had plenty of experience with Act 1, it has been quite easy to build his affinity lmao

I've been rejected twice in 2 different playthroughs with 2 different dialogs by astarion, one more cruel than the other, and then he had the nerve to sleep with lae, zel at the celebration at the grove!!!! Im ramancing shadow heart now because she was interested😂😅

(I’m on act 1 btw) I feel he kinda throws himself at you first, feels like a tactic to use me as insurance. I accidentally almost romance Shadowheart, and Gale is just waiting for me to pick him.. but with just a few clever words here and there AND constantly offering him to drink my blood, he seems kinda easy.

Then i play and hes throwing himself at me so i got confused by why people were saying that. Idk what im even doing to have him like me. I got my group to the teifling party at camp and somehow made Gale think I wanted to sleep with him (not my intent, don't even know what dialog made him think that) but then went to bed and I guess I... stood him up? Not sure. Anyway he wont actually talk to me now lol. He says I should seek conversation elsewhere. Whoops 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here's a tip for all you Astarion simps out there: Whatever action is likely to get Karlach or Gale's approval, do the opposite. This should usually also work for Lae'zel...for whoever is interested in her.

I don't get it. I never got rejected in 3 playthroughs and even get the ones I DON'T WANT (Gale confessed TWICE on seperate characters and i never once gave him a reason to -.-)
