Im so glad u said that!!! I press my own hair and i always use 2 passes. I never have heat damage when i visit my stylist for my routine trims either.

I'm too chicken to go to a salon during the pandemic so I cut 6 inches or more off of my hair in 2020 in order to close up the gaps in my hair. I took down my quarantine plaits this morning in order to assess my growth. I'm happy to report that my hair is growing in quite nicely.

I flatiron the same way you do. One pass on the roots(flat iron or hot comb). One pass whole hair shaft. One pass for styling. As long as you use heat protectant.

I love her hair after the cut! She was nodding off. Great job! I’m a Licensed Cosmetologist and my hair needs more than one pass. 😩😩😩 I hate seeing those holes in hair. For some odd reason, other stylists refuse to cut my hair. I tell them I can always grow it back. I really want to cut it completely off.

Wow @ your free hand cutting technique. Thank you for this blow dry information. That makes sense. Do you have an online class? I would like to see your high porosity, damaged, or very rough ends blow dry technique.

Absolutely love your Bantu knot sections for your blow dry. I only go to stylists that section before blow drying.

What an amazing transformation. Yes, girl I invested in a Denman Brush. I love it. I also have the holding spray too. Does wonders with my wrap lotion on me edges.

why do hair gaps happen?

It’s holes from where the split ends went up too far on either side in now the middle it thin and broken.

It can be causes from a number of things . Not getting hair trimmed on time , dehydrated hair lack of moisture ponytails another time constant friction .. just to name a few

(new subscriber here) I appreciate you talking about the difference between blow drying with a concentrator and brush vs. using a comb attachment. It seems many stylists on KZfaq feel the concentrator/brush combo gets the hair straighter. But this is the first time I’ve heard a stylist say that the comb attachment is gentler, and I watch a LOT of YT hair videos. When I used to go to the salon, stylists always used the comb attachment on me so that’s what I use at home. I bought a paddle brush so I could try it with a concentrator, but I think I’ll just stick to the comb attachment. Thank you. 😊

That gap for me was a sign of female pattern hair loss and vitamin deficiencies. I went to a dermatologist.
