This tutorial shows how to start using Mathematica to solve engineering and scientific problems. We show how Mathematica can be used to generate a rich document that includes both text and code. Some of the topics we cover in this video include:
-Simple calculations
-Cells
-Typesetting
-Palettes
-Using build-in functions
Other videos in this series:
-Getting Started with Mathematica (this video)
-Working with Matrices in Mathematica ( • Working with Matrices ... )
-2D Plotting in Mathematica ( • 2D Plotting in Mathema... )
-3D Plotting in Mathematica ( • 3D Plotting in Mathema... )
We use Mathematica 11.2 but the concepts should be applicable to any modern version of Mathematica.

AE501: I have worked with MatLab many times but never Mathematica. When I started at Boeing I was introduced to a tool and was told it was very similar to Mathematica, I can definitely see that now. After viewing this video and the "working with matrices in mathematica" video, I feel like I would prefer Matlab for matrix manipulation, mainly because of the extra steps needed for column manipulation in mathematica. I am definitely going to use it on the homework to get a better feek for it.
