Nice. A lot of checking. Probably a lot more to go. Soil looks excellent for planting.

I got a do all that calibration work yet, I bought those seed covers to. Wish my drill had the lockup valves. I might just unbolt the front units because I got the main pins to replace anyways. I just hope I can get the trench closed good so the preemerge doesn't contact the seed.
@tedkahler97386 жыл бұрын
is it a deere no till? Just buy the valves they are nothing special that i know of!
@mrbill41876 жыл бұрын
Ted Kahler It's a Deere 750, but it only has one big cylinder going to the back rockshaft with a couple rods to tie the front to the back. I can probably weld some stops in, but it'll be next year, its getting late early this year as Yogi said lol

excellent soft soil or your hand is one heck of a shovel.

I wish we had that good of WAAS signal but I guess US has more satellites to use for GPS signal. lol I demoed a NH air drill that was made to lift the front and seed 15" soybeans , The drill was really cool but it had so many tires that it couldn't be used on worked land and or very sandy land.

I just happen to be in a good spot for wass... I really like not having to wear out extra parts when 15 inch rows are great for beans
@farming4g6 жыл бұрын
Good 'ol Shoup parts. Got the new scrapers/openers today from shoup for the drill. Pretty similar to the case sdx, do 15'' rows too blocking off the runs from the cart to the drill and adjusting discs and down pressure accordingly. What beans are you using? Going with the Xtends?
@tedkahler97386 жыл бұрын
I do plant extends had good luck with them last year. All neighbors are using them as well. Im planting a 2.5 channel bean right now

They must be the invisible soybeans...good luck.just finished corn planting tonight.of course a thunder storm plowed in got mud all over everything. fun times..

just didnt put enough in and going down the road they spread all out
@davesisco46376 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t be afraid of the 7 1/2 inch rows . They ever get up the canopy is there . No more spraying . Works here anyway .
@tedkahler97386 жыл бұрын
7.5 have seeds too far apart too much risk for crusting. As well as extra wear on the front rows that is not needed... As well as harder to control the flow. Get it shut down enough for 7.5 rows then you start cracking beans... Just my opinion though id much rather use a planter but this year it aint going to work out
@Masseydriver6 жыл бұрын
I used square pieces of sheet metal and duct tape to plug every other hole on my drill. Lol. But it works!

LOL..... yea we use to too.... then came the plastic things.... life saver

The soil looks in ideal condition for planting, I just hope you get the weather conditions that you need for planting and rapid strong emergence. However the weather has been all over the place here recently and anything but normal what with ground frosts in the last week, temps to 24C and violent thunderstorms with masses of lightening. People here increasingly desperate to mow grass and make silage as the grass is being laid badly and becoming too mature for high quality feed.

Do you use the corn planting tractor with the drill?
@tedkahler97386 жыл бұрын
i have.... right now its on my old tractor. Big tractor still planting corn.
@Ac425675 жыл бұрын
Do you have issues with white mold? And how are the weeds?
@tedkahler97385 жыл бұрын
no white mold here yet.... weeds are better with narrrow rows than wide rows.. Weeds were good this year had a great spray program that worked
@69druth6 жыл бұрын
You could just adjust the width and gps it that way would work would it not. We have the best spring planting conditions in years. Got to win sometimes.Lol
@tedkahler97386 жыл бұрын
69druth no adjusting the width won’t work because the rows are not centered The back row is 7.5 inches to the left and the front is 7.5 inches to the right. They are not centered if I adjust the width then all my fields that are set up for perfect 40 or 20 foot swaths woundnt be right because I would have to overlap
@69druth6 жыл бұрын
I get it now one side a outside is planting and the other one is not.
