Homeschool room organization changes every year with new curriculum & a new schedule! Come along with me as its out with the old and in with the new! I'll take you through the process I go through and bonus......I've planned very differently this year. I can't wait to share with you the new things, the new ideas, and new challenges! I keep my old planners to see how my style has changed. I keep my teacher planners for when the next set come up to that level.

I am using a three tiered cart for my son's daily stuff this year. It really helped with keeping everything together and made it easier to see what I needed to toss.

Love those carts! Just pull it up to the workspace and supplies are contained and not all over the table.

Love seeing your kids getting involved, with checking the markers. I don't really keep old planners. Having company coming is a great motivation for finishing cleaning/organizing projects. Big project for sure!

We just had a birthday party for my daughter and then my house got a deeper clean!! 😂company is a GREAT motivator!!! 😜 (I’m watching your bad homeschool advice vid again right now….s funny to see your comment too. 😉)

I only dread the getting started!! That first step is the hardest!!!! But once you get going, it’s not so bad! You can do it!

You could put staples, magnets, tiny erasers, push pins, dice, in your pink circle container.

Love it! I am always more optimistic that these jobs will take less hours. However, large jobs like this are worth doing well! For the small, round organizational container you were talking about… I usually keep things like pushpins, mini clothes pins, rubber bands and the small erasers for pencil ends. I don’t have any portfolios as of yet. Right now I just put it in a filing cabinet and mark the year.

This was great encouragement and motivation. I have one more week til we’re starting school and I’m trying to deep clean the house and get everything ready in our dining/homeschool space. It’s so nice to freshen things up!

Yes!! A clean space for a clean start! 😉 you and are starting about the same time. I’m starting my oldest (maybe 😉) at the end of next week and my girls I haven’t decided. Either the next week or the week after that.

This was exactly what I went through organizing our school room. The mess got *worse* the first 3 days…it was almost overwhelming. But now our space is clean, set, and ready for Monday!!!🤩 The feeling of accomplishment is so wonderful! Hope y’all have a great start to your school year!

I way downsized my homeschool stuff. I have a binder for each of my elementary girls that has almost everything in there. Even with my (new) high schooler I’m taking up a 4 cube bookshelf and a microwave cart. Library books do have a separate bookshelf in the living room.

That printer is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! I just printed over 500 pages and the ink barely moved a feather🪶- Hope that makes sense. 🤣Unreal how amazing the Eco Printer is.

I agree!!! We’re still on the first fill of ink. I’ve printed over 1,000 pages this summer. But I also printed a ton from this printer before that. (We’ve only had it maybe 7-8 months!)

Girl, I am right there with you!!! We just finished our school year yesterday (we are year round homeschoolers but take 3-4 weeks off in August) and my homeschool room looks like an episode of hoarders because I’m trying to do all the things all at the same time.

I can sooo relate!!! I could NOT figure out why it took me so long to complete the cleaning, organizing, and prepping for this year. This will be our seventh year and I was starting to think I was off my A game or something. 😜 Then it dawned on me...I added a kid. I'm doing all those things for three kiddos "officially" now and all my stuff. It makes a huge difference!

We’re starting on the 8th and I finally got the “saying” put up on the wall board. Combing through new curriculum and figuring out how to work it is rough. (1 st year HS TGATB…it was interesting putting together). You did great on your room

Stick tak? I’ve never heard of that. Repainting is so fun!!! It’s a hassle, but your space is going to feel so good when it’s done. We repainted our dining room the week I was supposed to start school in 2020, so I feel for you. It threw me off on my start!

I’ve got more planner stuff this year but I get rid of the pages after we have done it!!! We love magnic dry erase markers!!! We love that they stick on our whiteboards!!! We had to buy more pencils as we used them as the ones learning a language with different letters than ours as no1 can write them so we prefer pencils for that then pens!!! Pre teen life is fun but I don’t mind the chaos!!! I love my label maker and so do my kids!!! Ongoing lists are needed!!!

😂😂😭😭🤣🤣 I do relate. I have kept my planners, they are like my record of what we’ve done. I don’t plan for planning sake. I write down what we did each day for record, maybe I need to rethink that! My problem is, I have all their school work from all the years. I’ve never done portfolios, I always take all their workbooks to the reviews, so I have so much I prob don’t need. Hence my, 😂😂😭😭😂😂! I’m considering putting kid’s old work into portfolios and trashing the rest! Any input? Good luck! ❤️

I don’t have formal portfolios. I have file folders and a filing cabinet where it all resides now. But for high school, I will probably make a more formal one. I just haven’t yet. For me, I keep all the art, papers written, anything super special. And then just a few samples of everything else (math and handwriting, science, history activities). Otherwise it’s just too much to file away. But some states may require you keep it all. I just happen to live in a state that doesn’t require this kind of “bookkeeping.”

Yes, for some reason i have a couple of my old Mardel planners and I have no idea why. They are in storage filing cabinets. I threw away a TON of stuff this summer, shelved many books, shelved many NEW curriculum. I'm still waiting on some curriculum because it's like they are walking it from state to state. I also have some online classes that done require a lot of things. I might need some supplies but I'm not sure what yet. Also, I don't label things except bins with boys names, so I don't have to relabel anything. ;) We need a binder system video and you did great with all the cleaning and organizing. Great job.

You must have a good printer to print 1000 pages. My printer only prints 75 pages (black and white ink) and it runs out of ink. So I end up going to the UPS store to print, which gets expensive. What kind of printer do you have?

I finally convinced my husband to get us an Epson Ecotank!! I used to have an HP and we used an Hp ink subscription (about $.06/sheet.) but I was constantly going over my 100 page/month subscription. They only let you bc sorry over for a month. And I had a ton of printing in the summertime and not nearly enough for 100 pages other months. So it was costing us too much. This ecotank has been everything it’s hyped to be. A BEAST for printing. My ink has barely budged…..it’s still more than half full and I had it for about 6 months before I printed this crazy amount this summer. This is the one I have: amzn.to/3oAlW6A It’s an investment up front. But with as much printing as we do, I’m kicking myself for not getting it sooner!
