This video is about getting the new to us John Deere grain drill ready for spring planting.
Hi my name is Paul & I’m Organic Dairy Farmer from Northeast South Dakota. I farm with my younger brother & we milk 50 cows. We are a 3rd generation family farm that farms 326 acres in which we raise corn, oats, alfalfa, soybeans plus we do rotational grazing with our milk cows.
We have been a certified organic dairy since November of 2006 & we take a lot of pride in what we do & strive to produce the highest quality products that we can.
I hope I can teach you a little bit of something about organic farming also in process maybe have a little fun along the way. Don’t be afraid to think outside they box!

You always end up fixing the used equipment you buy because you and your family care more about the piece of equipment than the previous owners. Good habit to have!

Thanks for another nice video. When it comes to repair and fixing I'm fine with the timelapse but out in the field I would like to see more work as it happens. That's the best thing I think about livestreams, although I live far away so I'm not likely to catch one live but I always like watching the uploaded version afterwards. I like seeing things as live as they can be generally.

Thanks Peter! Hopefully we will be out in the field soon. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate. It’s warm here one day and cold the next day.,

A trick to get those tires are to take a 55 gallon barol fill it with water and light a fire under the barrol and cook the tires then they get on some what easy but it is a tight squise hope that helps

Hi Paul, your drill is a nice one! Much better than my Dad’s John Deere Van Brunt remember those?
@organicpaulguy
@organicpaulguy 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes I do remember those old van brunt drills. My dad only could have dreamed of owning a drill like what we bought.

Hay Paul great video!! You would think they would have a machine to change those,like a tire changer,but looks like a pain! I hate changing tires by hand. Good luck and stay safe buddy!!

Try soaking it in really hot water and lube up rim maybe it would help

I've used tire lube on those. It makes the job alot easier. My son had trouble with keeping his phone in his pocket when he was supposed to be working. After a couple of trips up on the barn roof to retrieve it cured him quick. MB BAR RANCH

I'd take a sawzall and cut the rubber tire to get it off, but you've probably already figured that out.

Would it work to soak them in hot water to make them more ply able

One way is put rubber liners in a plywood box with a heat gun or hairdryer blowing warm air round them

Now make sure you don’t put that Minnesota in your organic fields, it’s not certified organic and it’ll contaminate your soil. 😂

He doesn’t have it out all the time. Part it is he gets poor reception because he’s with sprint. Their service is terrible out here. He’s uses my WiFi to send messages to his girlfriend when he’s gets in range if my WiFi.
