Getting Up to Rope Drop Universal Studios

Жыл бұрынIn this video, we rope drop Universal Studios Orlando to check out Universal’s early park admission! If you’re visiting Universal Orlando soon and have access to the extra hours at Universal Orlando, this is exactly what you can expect! Most people run to Hagrid’s or Velocicoaster at Islands of Adventure during early park, so we decided to head to Universal Studios Florida to see what was going on there! First we get a hot butterbeer from the hopping pot, then we ride Escape from Gringotts with virtually no wait, next we get breakfast from the Leaky Cauldron before shopping at the Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. We get up anywhere between 4:30 and 5:30 for park days. Why not!?! Lol

I think early rope drop is really important for visitors that only get to come to a park on a limited schedule. Typically these are very expensive vacations for families and trying to make the most of a day is important (depending upon the family dynamics). Some people would rather sleep in, show up later and stay to closing. Both methods have different advantages.

Oh for sure! If you don’t have express, it can be a HUGE time saver! We always tell people to take advantage of it if they can.

At Three Broomsticks, I got a lot of those potatoes with the rotisserie chicken! So good! And holy moly! I've NEVER seen gringotts line like that. Ever. Wow.Woe. oh and I HOPE you got the doughnuts! So fitting.

We struggled to get moving and get there by 8:30 that morning, but worth it to walk around and enjoy Diagon Alley without the huge crowds:) Thanks again for stopping and chatting with us (my family ran into you right before/around 9am when the crowd started coming in for Gringotts). Also wanted to let you know we tried the Buffalo chicken tots thanks to your video ranking all the tots, and they were a huge hit with the entire family😋

The only thing that got us out of bed when we were there was the breakfast with the grinch, there were tons and tons of people piling to haggrids, it was crazy. And then it was delayed, I chuckled to myself. Getting up super early does not sound fun at all to us and we had a super great time enjoying more sleep. And we didn’t miss out on anything. Thanks for the videos.

You got the Donuts. I saw the instagram before the video🤣 Empty Diagon Alley is a dream. Skiving is pronounced sky ving. Its a slang term meaning to slack off or lollygag. Skiving snackboxes make you appear ill so that you can skive from classes at Hogwarts😉

Great video. You guys are great together. When i go without the family, I go early. Once I had the first car in. I jump on to my favorite rides, experience less waiting times and it is cooler in the Summer. Last time I cycled through the Mummy three times in a row. (No need to empty the locker).

We went early yeasterday..early entry for resort guests was 8am. My wife wanted to ride Hagrids ride but in reality it didn't save us much. When we got in the line said 2 hours. It was not..more like one hour. BUT we got to see what's left of Sinbads theater. I had not idea it was still intact. Kind of a wasted space but cool to see. With that...the old Fear Factor area..they have a number of areas that they could redo. I was never sure what that ampitheater was over by Kong was for either. We've been going off and on over there for years and I never see anything there

Apparently they use those theaters for storage and other events like the cheer competitions they host every year. It’s a bummer they don’t have shows in them anymore, but we’d assume that’ll change eventually! At least that’s what we hope lol

Hi Anna & Tyler! I think that you you went with the Donut Ornament! I didn’t do EPA on my trip earlier this month, it’s rough because I am usually out late most nights and when I got up early, it was to play golf in the morning. Since you will be in TN for Christmas, I guess you will miss the extremely cold days for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day that are forecasted! The one problem that I have with EPA, is you need to get there and be one of the first ones in the park, if not the lines can get obscene at the end of EPA because everyone is funneled to the couple of open attractions, which is why I normally do not take advantage of it. I find it is a better use of my time to use my Express After 4. Ken

tbh the gringotts line probably was out there cause they hadn't extended the interior queues yet. Either someone wasn't paying attention or they had someone who didn't know how or they were just not doing it fast enough. Who knows. Also yeah, lockers slow things down...especially when they ain't working lol

Dude I wish! We were there last week and try as we may, with two kids in tow we couldn't get there earlier than 8:30 which was only 30 minutes after opening but by then the parks were a mad house!

My wife and I always plan week-long trips & we get up for EPA every morning (literally two of the first ppl in line every morning). It's always worth it because we can get so much done before the park(s) open(s). And as the crowds converge on HP & the Velocicoaster we move to other stuff since we already did HP & the Velocicoaster (depending on where EPA is). And I think you bought both ornaments lol. But if you bought only one I'm guessing you went with the doughnuts one. Great video as always!

Haha that’s wild! I don’t think we could do it more than a few days in a row. It’s amazing how empty it is first thing, though! And you’re right, we got both 😂🤣 but only one of them is our special Christmas ornament for this year!

@@ThePughTwo it's definitely tiring but it's worth it for us, especially if EPA is at IOA. We walk onto Hagrid's and then Velocicoaster (& ride Velocicoaster 1-4 times in a row) & then go do other rides. We make sure to take breaks to eat & stuff though. But we love how empty the parks are at first. 🤣🤣 I knew you'd get both lol. I can't blame you though! I'll wait for the IG post to see which is the special Christmas one!

I have to wake up at 4am for my job I hate, so I'd gladly get up early to beat the crowds! I wish I lived on the mainland, it's just so damn hard to get to the parks living in Hawaii 😭

Haha that’s a great way to think about it! We’ve been to Hawaii once and it was a tough trip. Living in Hawaii probably has some nice perks, though!

@@ThePughTwo Well, the weather is free, the rest of Hawaii costs an arm & a leg, haha. I try to stay positive about it, but it doesn't really feel like home. I work a ton, don't have family besides my son, & kinda feel like we're just here because it'd cost too much to leave. Visiting theme parks is an every other year or so escape, haha.

EPA was good for us this past summer as we walked right into Olivanders and since it was not many people in the group my daughter got picked for the wand to choose her.

8:06 One issue is that almost literally the whole world and his wife are in that nearly small locker room. On my last visit, a team member was out there announcing only 1 person per party in the locker area and I still see up to a whole small family while trying to put my backpack into one and retrieving it.

Not a chance would you get me up at 5:30 am on my vacation, we did early park entry in November and stood in line for Hagrids for 180 minutes …never again

We got up super early when we stayed at Portofino to rope drop Hagrids. It was a mission! We were there by just past 7am from the first boat over. Then it went down…We didn’t leave the line though. So worth the wait. Hot butterbeer is hands down the best!

I think you got the doughnut. EPA is the only way! I hate getting up early but I love lower crowds so we always do it and we get more done. I just wish they had more rides open. That line would have been much if more were open.

We thought there was only EPA at Islands the other morning… planned to get to Universal at opening and rope drop Gringotts, but a large line had already formed since it was open for EPA. Decided to run over to MIB and rode it a bunch of times in a row before it started getting busy.

The rides in the back of the park always take longer to get lines, so that’s a great strategy! When it’s super busy, they’ll do EPA at both parks in an attempt to manage the crowds a little bit better.

Oh that’s so fun!! Early Mardi Gras is a great time to visit! It’s later on in March when spring break is happening that the parks get so crazy!

Use guys light up the day no matter what time use go to the park Anna you should get something hot to eat to beat the cold but us from Scotland are very much used to the cold as it rains or snows most of the times

I have not seen a video about you guys walking to the park, or at least I have not found it. We are going in June and we plan on doing early park admission one of those days for Hagrid's. Just curious to know if you walk from one of the resorts or take the water taxi, do you get to skip the long security checkpoint at City Walk? And if not, how long should you plan for security at that time in the morning. I am already using your videos to plan ahead. Appreciate the videos! Oh.. And I have to try the Butterbear, because SOMEONE mentions it EVERY video 😂

If you take the walkway from one of the parks, it does take you through a separate security entrance! Same thing with the water taxis!!

They’re on FB! They leave all kinds of things like handmade jewelry, painted rocks, etc. I think they leave clues on the FB page when they hide stuff to help you find it. It’s so fun!!
