Got my 2 new Walmart Douglas Performance Tires 215/50/17 (note) made by Good Year, mounted today Sunday on my 07 Chevy HHR, It took them 1 hour and they knew how to mount the tires so the correct tred was facing outwards. I got the full warranty and it was just under $58.00 w/tax It's well worth it!!!,,, PS next month will be purchasing my last 2 from Walmart online,, good luck everyone and thanks Kelvin's Garage> HT

Kelvin this was an excellent video on the subject of buying tires at Walmart. I have always been skeptical of buying tires there, but your review of the Douglas Tires has put me at ease concerning that tire brand. I can see your point. Don't buy tires that are suppose to last up into the 80,000 mile range. As the tire itself is probably has aged to the point, it actually does need replacing at around 45 or 50,000 miles. I had my Kia Soul aligned at the dealer and I'm almost sure I paid up around $200 by the time the bill was totaled up. I was shocked but they did tell me it was going to be at least $160, the rest was taxes or whatever they add on.

The balance is between 12 to 14 dollars, road hazard is 10 dollars a tire and the valve stem is what holds the air in the tire.

Hey I just got my Douglas Performance tires (note) 1 pair, I read about them before I decided to purchase and I was satisfied with the results I read. When I was looking at the tred design I notice a different pattern on each side, after listening to your video it helped me to understand which side goes out and which side goes inside. You have to check everything wslmart does I had a light bulb put in they had to move battery ti get to it and they didnt lock down to he battery clamp!!

Keep in mind, Walmart, unlike actual tire stores, does not allow you to exchange or get a refund if the tire does not meet your expectations. So if that really cheap tire you just bought, is loud on the road. You to turn up the stereo, or preventing you from having a conversation with so many sitting next to you. They will not and cannot do a refund or exchange if you've driven on the tire. Unless you're replacing like for like and you already know that your tire is in exact replacement, I highly recommend you're going to an actual tire store. Learn from our mistake, casa $600 for some cheap tires we now have to just throw away or sell used on Facebook.

You only need to do an alignment if you change the front end parts tie rods Center link ball joints etc okay

Good tips!! I'm going in tomorrow. One thing I thought of is that they replace the tire stems and I have better quality caps. Instead of asking them to transfer the caps, I'll just take them off before I give them my car.

There is hard rubber which lasts long and soft rubber mostly for snow but also used to make cheap tires. I've heard of people getting 20-30,000 miles out of cheap tires because the tread wears down so fast, which ends up costing you more in the long run. And about front tires wearing more than rear tires. If you rotate your tires, you won't' have uneven wear. all 4 tires will have even wear.

First problem is Douglas. If anything Goodyear assurance outlast at the low end or step up to Hankook or general or kumho Michelin nothing less.

Sure generics are sourced from similar sources, but the tire material can easily be a different formulation, its not all the same, they adjust it for different grades, grips, weather, and surely cost.

Goodyear tires are good. Its the people. They don't do the tpms service packs. When i asked the guy after watching him, he said they never have them. How many people pay for them with thier install and don't get them.

I have dealt with several walmart tle, most of the time I have had less than ideal experience. They always try to find a way to get out of what I ask them to do. I went for an oil change and they refused to do it because my car was too new. They claimed they didn't know if they had a filter for it. They had my filter for sale on the shelf inside the store. Another time I went to buy tires and they said they had tires for my vehicle and I waited 2 hours to get them put on and they called me to tell me they couldn't find them in stock. I have also went there first thing in the morning on a Sunday when it wasn't busy at all and still had to wait over 2 hours to get tires put on. I only go there if I'm not able to go when other tire shops are open. The local tire shops in my area include mounting and balancing in the price of the tires.

Price match the tires at discount tires(they can get you any tire)and they put them on right.The clown’s from Walmart probably screw at up.

Some of this is true but if you are a heavy drive alot of freewY miles you may want a higher mileage tire.

My Walmart is absolutely terrible.

Those tires are known to last only 20K . By that time they are noisy, hydroplaning in rain and easy get flat when it wear down. When the cost of mounting, balance are constant cost at say $25 per tire. You have to decide if the cost are comparable. For me it makes more sense to go pay $40 or even double of that Douglas for longer use. That $200 you save for a 2 years tire could easily save that $1000 fender bender over the 4 years. If snow and rain are in your area, I personally had General Atlimax RT43 before and they are great. Had also Cooper Evolution and Ultra on the other two cars but are too new to commend. I learned to change my tires during the pandemic and its not bad.

These are bad for Honda Civic 2017. Spins too much vs the old worn tires. Good price bad performance. Better to spend a bit more for something better.

I will never use Wal-Mart again after they installed the wrong tires. I asked for Goodyear Reliants (and verified this TWICE with the associate) and they put on Douglas A/T. The Wal-Mart tire center associates are LAZY, RUDE and not-accommodating at all. They also put 2 different size valve stems on my tires. I'm having this fixed because the car looks 'stupid' with 3 valve stems sticking 2" out from the rim. To be honest, it's not worth the hassle dealing with Wal-Mart to save a few bucks on tires.

So douglas tires at $100 have a 45k mile rating, but michelin $200 tires have a 80k rating. Get what you pay for I guess.

I always tell them am going take my used tire home so they can take off the $20 fee. I buy mine at big brand tires or america depot tires i always get the cheapest tire . They always have 40 dollars off on there website online so thats another discount. I wouldn't do anything at walmart they hired kids from high school.

Goodyear Viva 3 suck balls from Walmart. They are from a good American namebrand, are very affordable, and look nice. But..... Cons: 1) Treadwear is worse than advertised. Two years max life out of them if you're lucky. 2) Feel very unstable in the rain. Literally, I hydroplaned in heavy rain in a straight highway. 3) Extremely noisy on the highway. 4) Has no safety features and new technology implemented in the tires from Goodyear- hence the price. It's literally just rubber with some decent tread design. I recently purchased Pirelli P4 All Season tires. Boy, what a difference in performance, stability, noise and peace of mind. Don't cheap out on All Season tires like I have in the past

Why should we take advice from someone who purchased Douglas tires? Do better 😂.

my personal experience: you get Walmart quality, Walmart prices and Walmart customer service. (NOT THE BEST) Product: be careful with tires, they gave me old stock and refused to exchange them. I asked before they mounted them and told me tires the were manufactured this year and turns out the tires are from 2015. They installed the tires in June 2023. Tires were 7 years old. no wonder the tires where cheaper. Customer Service: they act like they are understaff (might be the case) and always on defense about why it takes 3 hours to install new tires when I am literally the second 7am appointment. the first appointment before me was a sedan that needed an oil change. I rather pay $80 more dollars at discount tire or pet boys but they don't sell old tires like Walmart does. For those that don't know, tire compounds are not meant to last on average more than 7 years. yet, they sold me 7 year old new tires. WALMART SOLD ME TIRES MANUFACTURED 7 YEARS AGO, I ASKED WHEN MY TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED BEFORE INSTALLATION AND THEY SAID "THE TIRES ARE FROM THIS YEAR". OVERALL, "BS". they somehow manage to give you the Walmart experience somehow. UNSAFE!!!!!! My tires are Continental, not worried about paying over $1,000 because Continental tires are meant to give you superb performance, safety and endurance.
