I'm absolutely amazed at the work you have done on the '68 Charger! I've done my share of body work, mostly fat-fendered Fords and Plymouths, and my latest project, a '68 Austin Mini. But you take the cake with that Charger! I agree with the satin black paint job idea, and I keep wanting to see the '68 grill. If you score one, with those wheels the thing is going to be the dog's bollocks!

Glad to see you back at work on the Charger. It might look terrible to you, but that car is still a lot better rust-wise than most of the unrestored 68-70 Chargers out there. Black? Your call on the color. I do like the idea of going with gold and putting a black vinyl top on it. I think gold is the car’s original color. It will look good no matter what color you paint it. Nice to see empty space in your shop!

I love it, your 68 Charger project is coming along nicely y'all. Thanks for sharing your Charger experience project. BTW, my child-hood dream car is a Black carbureted 1978 Corvette and I wouldn't have my C3 Corvette any other color than Black. I restored/modified it in my garage and have road-trip driven it from Louisiana as far West as Arizona, as far North as Kentucky and as far East as Darlington, South Carolina. About your Charger, what a coincidence. Just yesterday I watched a Chop Cut Rebuild episode on KZfaq filmed at the AMD Installation Center in Cleveland, Georgia that featured an example of what can be accomplished with new AMD sheet metal and the car they featured it on is a 1969 Charger they found sitting on the ground in a salvage yard. They did a partial restoration to show at SEMA to showcase what can be done with body parts from AMD. The didn't only the body panel replacement, no engine, no interior, no glass...only the body parts in the same black shipping paint like yours. Keep up the good work, y'all two make a good team.

Hot rod black is cheap and boring.....and super, super common (because it's cheap!) It's ok for low end rides but this is a '68 Charger! Paint her up right; FULL gloss black w/ gold rear (bumble bee) stripe! The body work is all the effort. You can't do all that and then hit it with cheap hot rod black paint. She needs to turn heads! It's a freaking '68 charger! Spare no expense! :) I've had a few black cars over the years. They don't always look dirty. They're hot inside when the sun is out though!

I wasn't going to write anything for fear of being attacked, but I took offense to the cyclist comment on this video. I'm a former subscriber and car person, but I'm also a former cyclist who was hit by careless driver in 2016 - It ruined cycling for me, it was a beloved stress reliever in my life. A person's politics has nothing to do with the love of the car enthusiast hobby, and I wish we could stop turning everything in life into a social clique. You guys are great! I love your energy, work ethic, and that you strive to live a life outside of just cars. But can we all please just learn to get along.
@GnarlySpeedShop6 ай бұрын
A car hitting a cyclist is going to end badly for the cyclists, unfortunately. (That can't be controlled) This is an extremely narrow road. We had to step on the brakes to prevent a head-on collision with the oncoming vehicle, or the other option was to hit a cyclist. There are plenty safe roads with actual bike lanes to ride on around here. I fully support that. It's hard to see in the video, but he was over the fading white line at some points. I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Putting himself and everyone else danger. Also I have seen this guy riding in the middle of the road sometime. Very inconsiderate, in my opinion. Maybe he lacks former common sense.

@@GnarlySpeedShop From Bike Law in your state: "Cars Overtaking Bicyclists" "Motor vehicle drivers are required to pass bicyclists at a distance of no less than three (3) feet. Cars must not interfere with the safe operation of bicycles." So, in other words, if you have to slow down and wait for other cars to pass, so you can pass a cyclist safely. You have to slow down.

More important than being politically correct - just be fair and open minded about other people’s hobbies - some view old cars as junk :(. As far as cyclists being inconsiderate - yes some are, but some are just sharing the road - again be tolerant as our society needs to learn that. Had someone recently complain my car was too loud - it’s got flowmasters.
