Happens in the USA too. in North Carolina they have the threat of snow or ice they shut down the airports, schools and government buildings. So many closings of businesses. When we lived in Maine, three feet of snow and the snow plow was in front of the school bus plowing the way to school. They did delay school for heavy fog though.

If we’re being honest, we could easily go to school during snow, obviously there’d be a few changes like uniform allowances or you can wear your coat in class, but we’re all lazy shits and take it as an excuse to stay home all day 😂

I like turkey. And in the US we have turkey meat in the deli section. But no one ever makes it at home aside from Thanksgiving or some holiday because it's expensive otherwise and takes so long to cook.

In Puerto Rico we have roasted pork for Christmas it’s tradition 😂 I can’t imagine eating turkey for a holiday (except for thanksgiving and even then sometimes they make some pork on the side lol)

My mum started making roast chicken instead of turkey years ago and we have no regrets whatsoever! Mmm it’s lovely with cranberry sauce.

We have turkey at thanksgiving and a standing rib roast for Christmas.

In the UK having turkey for Christmas has become kind of sacrosanct, as it is for Thanksgiving in the Americas. (Bear in mind Thanksgiving is a purely New World tradition.) Weirdly it is the only time of year you will catch Brits eating turkey - there’s no turkey meat in our sandwiches this side of the pond, and most will probably admit to not even being that fond of the stuff (tbh it’s dry and flavourless) - but the idea of a turkey-less Christmas just seems, well, _wrong._ However having experienced Christmas without it I would urge other Brits to follow suit! Chicken all the way, my compadres. 😀 I literally don’t know a single person who has ever even tried goose, though it sounds very tasty. Not sure when that fell out of favour. Always makes me think of _A Christmas Carol_ ! 🎄

We have snow every 25 years, but this is Texas. 🌵We have a hot summer and the heat stays for a really long time, always 105 degrees Fahrenheit. I think that's 40 degrees Celsius.
