Hope i don't disappoint everyone too much, but my car is getting old and things are going to slow down at some point. In a couple years, with any luck, things will go from real slow back to full throttle. Keep fingers crossed that i may be steadfast and diligent in saving $$$ for a new car and putting less miles on ol' Baby. It'll pay off in dividends, no doubt. i love this land, Gettysburg, the Delmarva, and wish i earned more and could afford to put my best foot forward with Tubin'. But hey, i think I've done pretty well on such a shoestring budget. It's been a pleasure for me, and it's been my pleasure to share this journey with you as well.

What a splendid, misty, foggy, wet morning. It was surreal, ethereal, moody, and magical.

I had a paranormal encounter at Gettysburg. It was during my 8th grade DC field trip. We stopped at Gettysburg for a day. I forget where I was on the battlefield, but I was in the back with three others, and all three of us heard soft booms in the background. We look at each other and made our way to the front and ask the ranger guiding us when the artillery demonstrations were and they say not for another hour. It was eerie but really cool.

God bless all of the fallen solders on both sides. What a tragedy that they fought each other, how very sad.

A girl I’m talking to lives in Gettysburg, I was up there this past weekend visiting her. I took her to the exact spot you were in the beginning of the video and we both heard what sounded like men talking, and this was around 1:30am on Saturday. We went back Sunday night and the fog was so eerie and we just felt so uneasy out there, she claimed to have heard a baby crying as well.

Yep...i think the energy is subtle. Voices...sounds...not always booming canons, for example, but just things you saw out of the corner of your eye, or thought you heard...kinda like ambient special effects in a good suspense movie. Kinda like deja vu, hard to put a finger on.

Imagine the sound of this battle, men sceaming, land drenched in blood, smoke, and the stench of ruptured bowels, the smell of ripe corpses, and yet nothing changes! Old men still send young men into death for money and power! I pray were not headed towards this fate again,God Bless America!😢

Yes, there are so many documents talking about the noise at night as the undertakers walk the field with their lanterns looking for dead that have embalming tags which meant they purchased an embalming policy. The screaming and moaning. I have PTSD from Iraq, I can’t imagine what they went through after. It’s when they built all the insane asylums. Such an interesting era in our history and so many tough men and women who lived during that time. Wonder what the civil war and revolutionary war veterans would say about the current administration and the state of the country today? I wonder if they knew we would turn into this if they would have bothered picking up their arms?

You're absolutely right it's like our citizenship is dwindling away and this administration is the worst I've ever seen since I've been around 65 years. But you're right they would have said I ain't fighting for this and therefore live a longer life.

Been to Gettysburg a few times, my hometown is just on the Pennsylvania border in New York State, which is about a 3 n half hr drive. We were there in 1993 for the 130th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg reenactment of Pickett's Charge. And yes, the ambience early in the morning with the fog does give it an eerie feeling. Great video, thank you for sharing.

Meh, neither have i. Personally, i don't necessarily believe in the supernatural the way others may, but i don't discount it out of hand. What i do believe in is what many refer to as "the energy" of people, things, and places. It could literally, as Tesla said, boil down to vibration and frequency. But when i walk the battlefield, and even the town, i feel it. It's almost impossible to miss. Thanks for watching, Jason 😊✌️

@@ThreeZeroOne oh I fully agree. I can feel the energy and sorrow when I walk the battlefields knowing how many people died. Did you ever go to the Heritage museum? We go there every time and try the basement experience. It is breathtaking to do that.

Have been here many times, still get a chill with all the history and aura of it. If you have time, head south into Maryland to Antietam Battlefield, one of the bloodiest battles, also very historic and haunting

Kind Thanks it’s a great video! My daughter and I were at these same places last September. Here in Pa. I’m about 60 miles away. Gettysburg is a mystical and beautiful place on earth for such a terrible battle to have taken place. I often feel that I may have been killed there back in 63. Who knows? Thanks again and Many Blessings! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

@@ThreeZeroOne Years back I was told by a Ranger at Gettysburg, that archaeological evidence show a major Native battle had taken place on the same battlefield. But its beauty and high ground were factors in it happening? Destiny perhaps? But with all the fire power and lead raining everywhere, I’m a,ways amazed how anyone survived. I have an 1829 Army issue musket I restored and shoot occasionally that was converted to cap and ball in the 1840s and used in the Civil War. It is 69 cal. and boy does it pack a wallop! Even a wound was devastating! Back in the 60s I went with my friend and his dad to spend a weekend with my friends uncle in a cabin in Caledonia, a bit west of Gettysburg. His uncles uncle was a boy of 8 years old and lived in Gburg. After the battle his father took him by the hand and told him how stupid mankind can be. They walk across the battlefield, if I remember correctly, he said the Wheatfield and rarely stepped on ground. Thank Again and Many Blessings! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

From what i gather, Native Americans were definitely in the area, albeit not in large numbers, tribes, or villages, but in smaller numbers and concentrations. Garry Adelman and Tim Smith included this in their book on Devil's Den, but if i recall correctly, they were careful to convey that the stories were something of legend. There may have been a battle there. Or, it could have been a hunting zone. Hard to say. i believe the land Gettysburg College sits on was the site of an old village. Leaving a link to a CW forum that's interesting. Anyway, your musket story is WAY cool, and that you refurbished it and have fired it. Freaking awesome. Thanks for watching and sharing, Davey! 👍✌️ civilwartalk.com/threads/native-american-battle-at-devils-den.15782/#google_vignette www.gettysburg.edu/news/stories?id=0733d41f-b9b5-46ca-b355-c675580cc287
