Jamie, I am listening to this production of that beautiful ballad - “The Nearness of you.” I am literally driving away from work headed into a long awaited sabbatical (20 years) and listening to this! So beautiful, so touching, and inspirational for my own playing. I thoroughly enjoyed it - thank you! I just bought you a well deserved coffee!

Jamie: On your rendition of "The Nearness of You " I can hear the sound and style of "Boots Randolph. " Kudos to you!!! Others might not think that is a compliment, he was known for so MUCH more than his signature Yakety.

Jamie, where have you been all my life!?? Better put, where have I been? I guess under a rock somewhere in the deep woods! Even though I love to watch a musician's face when they are playing to see the emotions run across it, I had to listen to "Wonder of You" with my eyes closed. It was truly awesome! Just beautiful. I could listen to you all night which I pretty much have for its now 6 am! Time very well spent. Thanks for sharing your gift! Closing the jam out now with "True". 🤗

Absolutely beautiful Jamie. Tonal variation, phrasing, structure and development of the solo was wonderful. What a beautiful ballad mr Carmichael. As usual, when I hear something this good I am torn between picking up the sax and practicing immediately and just throwing it in the skip!!!! Andy

Great performance Jamie! One of my favorite ballads ever... I love James Taylor / Mike Brecker version. Two thumbs up man! And nice quoting of Misty on 3:48. 🤓. Maybe you should consider making a live with Jay... as you may know he lives in France, so time zone won’t be a problem. I’ve enrolled both to TTM and Jay’s courses and you guys rock! Thanks!

Thank you Jamie. That was beautiful and moving! I love this tune, and thanks for the appropriate visual back-drop. (I also like Chad LB's recording, as well as the Michael Brecker/James Taylor version. Norah Jones' is nice, but lacks a sax.) Although I appreciate all your videos, this was awesome.

Good choice of other tracks! Don't forget the Rolling Stones version from Live Licks (which makes up for the Rod Stewart version)! Sung by Keith Richards in his most a-melodic voice.

Wow! Just wow! Beautiful rendition and awesome tone Jamie. Inspiring as always. However it does raise within me my age old argument of if I should invest in a tenor or upgrade my alto lol. (Wanders off mumbling about finding a money making scheme.... )

@@GetYourSaxTogether as it was intended! That man had some serious style unlike anyone else. Other things he hammed up a lot for the Nashville scene, but the standards were so sultry and full of swagger. But I liked how in the remainder of the track you shifted gears and revved it up more!
