A note to anyone wanting to get a G43, modern ammo is way more gassed then what the germans fielded during the war and the G43's gas system was designed to compensate for fouling and icy conditions. Please do yourself a favor and buy a gas kit, it'll severely reduce the recoil, save you and your coveted rifle from potential over gassing/breakages.

I have a DUV 44 G43. It looks exactly like yours does. Over the years I found out that putting in new springs ever y 5-600 rounds will save the gun from beating itself up I got them from Woll Gunsprings. This rifle gets a lot of bad stuff said about it but with new springs it's very reliable. Great new production ammo with the correct military weight of 198gr. you there. The Romanian stuff from the 1970's is 150 gr but it's pretty clean reliable and cheaper than that Privi for plinking.

Like I posted earlier, change the recoil springs every 500-600 rds and it'll keep running without any over-pressure issues. Unless it's been modified to lower the gas pressure, there are two ways to do it that I'm aware of, putting in new springs is a must. If I just bought one and wasn't real familar with it. The first thing I would do is put new springs in it. They are easy and cheap to get from Wollf Gun Springs. I've been shooting G43's for 20 years and Just passing on what I've learned. Good luck with it! all they do is go up in price, even mismatched shooters.

M1 stayed in service till the 1970s. Gewehr was a wartime design that was abandoned after the war. M1 master race.

Do these have a tendancy to bend their operating rod? Ive heard tons of horror stories about that, or other issues, its why they were not fielded so much? Other than Hitler not wanting anything other than bolt guns

She’s a damn beauty!!! And that 8mm Mauser has the juice at range with plenty of punch to go through even modern body armor.

The slickness of that rifle is unreal, especially considering the condition in which it was designed and produced.

Love how careful he is w/ his 43. Doesn't throw it on the table and dump rounds on top of it like most of them. I wouldn't either.
