Review of the Geyser Shower System. I give a full demonstration of the system and point out a few cons. I feel this system is great for Van life, camping, and Overlanding. The Geyser shower system is quick, easy, and uses less than a gallon of water which makes it the best shower system I have used. The Geyser shower system is small, making it easy to take on your next camping, van life, or Overlanding adventure.

Love my 3 gallon metal pesticide applicator. It looks like an old fire extinguisher with a pump handle. Put it by the fire and heats up to ridiculously hot temperatures in a very short period of time. Cheap, effective, and takes up a little space and weighs very little empty

I have one of these myself and I too like it because of being able to conserve water while bathing outdoors is a big plus. I did have the electric model BUT returned it because heating element went bad so I got the non-heated version which I think is better for the same reasons you stated since it took so long to heat up as well as using up battery power to heat up. I do wish there was some type of an on/off button along with the valve on the hose so you don't have to keep the pump running. That way when you get the valve in a flow position that you wanted you can simply press the water flow button when you needed it. This would also help you stretch your water during your shower... All in all I would definitely purchase the Geyser shower system again in order to have a hot "shower". Thanks for taking the time to put these videos out Jason! Sorry I missed your Patreon Summer camp event!

I love this pump. I’ve used solar bag, wet wipes(Soo bad for enviro. I wish people would quit promoting) & garden sprayer. THIS is so much better. An investment but worthy. I also have non warming due to time/wattage. I have Stanley Camp Crock(3 qt). In morn while making coffee/breakfast I boil extra water & seal in Crock. It stays hot up to 18 hrs. End of day-use in shower without having to heat more water. Saves time, waters hot, waters sanitary so can use for dishes, etc. Perfect. I do not use to wash my shoulder length hair(female). Water is too precious for that. I’m full time in a Subaru Crosstrek with rack on top & back. My only concern to mention is I’m 60. This thing can be heavy. It also takes up more weight in a small SUV. But, concessions have to be made for this life & this is a luxury I truly appreciate. Thank you for review & appropriate shots of it in use. Be Safe

Jason, an option for working with any vacuum you get against your lid would be to just drill a hole in the lid and thread a stainless 1/4-20 screw with an o-ring and a washer. Use a dremel and a cutoff wheel to cut a groove in on one side of the screw but not all the way to the washer/oring seal. This setup will allow you to screw it down to seal as needed, but also back it out so that the groove is exposed to allow air to pass through to eliminate the vacuum.

I found this review helpful b/c you actually used the equipment and gave an honest assessment of how it worked. I am in the market for a way to get a hot shower while truck camping and the options are limited in my price range and what you do find, you can't get a feel for it from the Amazon reviews.

Great demonstration, as always. I also have this system, but have yet to try it. I like the size. Much more compact than a 2 gallon pump sprayer. It fits nicely in the water heater closet of my Sportsmobile. I removed the water heater because it requires shore power and we typically boondock. Thanks Jason!

Well received mine today after a hot day working on the power lines, I though it would be a good test. Stripped down in the garage, it was 86 degrees out! water was on the verge of being cold. Also, the flow valve was leaking. I thought they took care of that problem, but I guess not. Ran out of water before I was Done. Sending it back to Amazon tonight. I will keep using my boss heater and use a small sprayer if I want a water saving shower, but I will be able to increase the temperature at least.

For years I just used a 5 gallon bucket with a rag. Add some hot water boiled in a pan over the camp fire or stove to warm it up. You could go with Four or five 2 liter pop bottles if you need cheap as possible. Just poke some holes in an extra cap and you have a solar heated squeeze bottle with a shower head. Total cost: 5 bucks at the dollar store if you buy them full of pop. Works for long hair too. No problems. Maybe once my little YT channel gets monetized and I have more sponsors I can afford something more impressive like what you have. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Geyser is missing a huge opportunity. The biggest deal isn't their pump/reservoir, it's the sponge. In regular vans/truck campers/other camper showers, a hookup to replace a shower head with one of these would save a TON of water when boondocking. I'd love to see Geyser expand the system with more accessories too like a small spray nozzle. Then you could skip wasting water rinsing the sponge and just rinse directly.

A nice but rather elaborate system. I just use a 5V USB rechargable battery powered shower combined with a stainless steel jerrycan. The jerrycan can be filled with a kettle or placed directly over a stove or alonside a campfire. Jerrycan also useable as a general water storage too. I also use a couple 25mm thick waffle recovery boards for my shower base combined with a Quick Pitch Shower System. Great setup :-) Otherwise, love your content.x

I love it for the portability. Put it in the truck with rooftop tent. Back of the Hiker trailer. In the car for tent camping. I'm in AZ and water is very hard to find in the back country, this saves a ton of water. I do have the unit with built in heat, I've used the heater once, took about 15 minuets to get up to speed, most times I use the Jet Boil. I can not stress how much a game changer this thing is, I was amazed first time I used it. You feel clean and you did not make a huge muddy mess at your camp site. I put mine in a cheap Harbor Freight 4800 case with all the essentials. Small Jackery and 5 gallon can from Lowes the Scepter food grade plastic. That's a week of clean camping (human wise). I know some folks use it to wash their dishes at camp, they sell a special sponge just for that purpose. I found mine at overland west with the Crew from Geyser at the demo tent.

Great review! Im asking this seriously... Couldn't you get a similar result with a two bucket/bowl system amd a couple sponges? Just warm some water (like the non heated geyser system requies) and lather up. Then rinse with the clean second bucket. I feel like you could do this with about a gallon of water and maybe $10 in supplies? Just not convinced the pump is that necessary....again, not trying to say anything bad about this system just trying to think practically. Appreciate any feedback.

Seems like the version with the electric heater would do the best at getting the water as hot as possible without tripping the hot shut off. And if you added stove-heated water to the heater version, it would neither take much time nor use as much DC power to get it ready for a shower. Right?

Feels like a decent idea but very poor execution. If they had gone with a USB-C instead of car port for the power it would be able to be used on a lot more smaller battery banks / power stations and also it just seems functionally useless with its water pressure for anyone with hair longer then 2 inches.

@@PrimalOutdoors Thanks, I have no idea what happened! I posted yesterday after watching the video, and today it was gone. Weird. For the record, what I did was order the hose, valve, and a couple of sponges directly from Geyser after first seeing you talk about it. I wanted to use them with my current RoadShower. I originally wanted to use their quick connect, but when I wrote to Geyser asking to order the part and explaining what I was doing, they told me it was proprietary, and the system was only to be used on their pumps. Instead, I bought a 10PSI pressure reducer, a garden hose to 1/4" hose adaptor, and connected the Geyser hose, valve and sponges. It works fantastically! Haven't showered with it, but washing dishes at camp saves so much water now vs the RoadShower's spray nozzle. Geyser should sell these as kits to anyone with an alternate water storage system. Yes, I avoided spending the money for their pump/heater, but there are thousands of folks out there with similar systems they could sell to and make up in quantity what a few lost unit sales would cost them. A win-win for everyone! And, I just realized that you and I are apparently the only people still using the term "folks" 😆
@PrimalOutdoors
@PrimalOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I of course I don't speak for Geyser or have any involvement in the their business model. Like you said for the DIYers out there it's not hard at all to adapt their sponge to other shower systems using a 1/4 hose barb. Each aftermarket shower system is going to be somewhat different so coming up with universal connection that is going easily adapt to other systems might be problematic from the standpoint, it would be difficult for Geyser to support all the calls and emails that would come in from folks that are not DIY minded trying to attach the sponge to XYZ shower system. I think it's better for folks that have DIY mindset like yourself to figure out on their own how to best adapt the sponge to XYZ shower system they have. For those folks that are not interested in a DIY solution the Geyser system is a simple, portable and functional solution that works very well.
