As in the BACHSIDE OF MY SHOES All kidding aside, wish you a lot of fun with Anger Foot when you get to play it. Or as a literal Dutch translation would be: Woedevoet Boospoot may fit well (mix of "boos", pronounced like "boze" which means angry, and "poot" pronounced like "pote" which means leg or paw, mainly in reference to animals or furniture legs. But if "boospoot" pronounced in English sounds funnier, go for it :P

Hand-drawn 2D metroidvania that is, in essence, the culmination of the lead dev's tastes throughout his life, from comics and manga to cartoons and especially music (he's from an ex-Punk Rock background). Gameplay's solid, he's currently blessed with the green light to work on big DLC update for the game. Dude takes it seriously and wants to make it as good as it can be, fully knowing how out-there and niche it can be.

I would say this looks like a traditional video game. I know we went through this period where the idea that games can be challenging or that rote repetition is bad game design, but that *used* to be the content. Whether or not that's for everyone isn't really worth discussing, but it is for *someone* and back in the day at least, its how pretty much all games were. Which leads us to that old question we used to ask, is it *fun*? And yeah, it's fun.

It was simply not possible for EA to sell a game that was willing to punish the player because they didn't want to turn away a potential buyer. The emphasis, therefore, started to rest on presentation and storytelling. The cinematic game became popular and with it, the idea of difficulty was mostly relegated to checkpoints and regenerating health. Sure, token difficulty modes existed but it ain't no Goldeneye 007 on 00 Agent: sorry. What matters here is not that challenging games stopped existing, it's that the popular discourse around such things *which still persists* push the notion that difficulty is an accessibility problem. If you honestly think you disagree, then where are all the debates about difficulty coming from? I guess they just appeared one day. Perhaps you were the one under that rock?

I will say the chargers make the game into a speed run fest, i spent most of my time just rushing through as fast as posible trying to not die, it made the game really fun in a completely different way. I fully expect some crazy shit from speed runners with them
