well, considering that GH's fanbase goes wild over anything (I suspect they'd be just as loud and wild if Maurice Benard said he would launch a nuclear holocaust in the MIddle East), that's not the basis surrounding the win. I find the great majority of GH's fans to be obnoxious, rude, and just plain irritating. I've posted at many GH forums over the years and they fight and bitch over EVERYTHING. I've never seen any other soap (aside from perhaps DAYS) have endless fanbase wars and verbal spats over mere fiction. It makes the Stars Wars vs. Star Trek feud look tame in comparison.

Out of what I’ve seen from GH (clips from around 1997-now), the Guza/Phelps era was probably the worst the show’s ever been. It had more consistent entertainment to it than nowadays, but it wasn’t worth throwing the show’s legacy down the drain. Question: Would you rather take Phelps or Valentini as EP of GH?

@@cajayson8301 I think that her true colors really showed when she went to Y&R. She not only got rid of its iconic old soundtrack, but tried to gut the Chancellor mansion and burned down the Newman ranch (I never watched much of that show, but I have heard about and even seen some of that). On GH, Guza didn’t seem to care too much about the vets and had narcissism that showed even during his stint with Wendy Riche, so I do think he had a part to play as well since the trail of legacy characters’ deaths only began with Rick Webber after he returned in 2002. I still think that 2001 GH was decent enough, but man, she fell off hard after that IMO.

@@marvinnewbill6470 GH has been utter shit for nearly 20 years. I'd rather a show go out on a high note (as AMC did) and have several good years in its last decade (Which AMC did) than bleed a slow death for two plus decades But you enjoy your crap soap
