Cryptosporidiosis is second only to Malaria measured in DALYs in global parasitic disease impact. Cryptosporidium is transmitted mainly via the fecal-oral route, often through contaminated water. It primarily causes diarrheal disease.
This training session will:
- Review the concept of DALYs as it relates to Cryptosporidiosis
- Review the Cryptosporidium life cycle
- Discuss the clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of Cryptosporidiosis
